Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 113: Whutchu talkin' about, Meyer?

I missed this bit; who's taking lessons? I fly like a 15 year old, myself, making radio calls long before I've thought about what I should be saying.

My kid, he's been obsessed with planes for most of his life. I've been bartering my work for flying lessons with this place
www.mainescenicairways.com, trouble is I'm running out of work and lessons are expensive:eek:

ctf plans to play doctor with a real MD soon..
Would go tonight, but with the fact that I'll most likely need a chest xray, it will be considered emergency care, rather than after-hours care.
I feel as if I've ruled out meningitis mainly because said stiff neck has gotten a good deal better, rather than worse, and none of the symptoms seem to be getting worse other than coughing.
Whatever it is, get well soon!

Yeah that is usually how I roll.

I am in a bit of a funk lately.

I will say now that I started crossfit I am starting to get back into more health behaviors, so I am hoping once my stamina picks up that I can take that energy and use it to bust thru my saturday list.

But you are right, I probably wouldnt feel as bad about it if I had one productive day and one where I wore no pants and slept on the couch.
Rest is good! Turn the phone and computer off, make yourself a nice hot cup of tea, grab a blanket and pass out on the couch. Whatever needs to be done can wait.

Good morning, Lodge. Peanut butter for breakfast? Yes! I'm also getting this d-mn splint off my arm today and a friend is treating me to lunch. Today is going to rock.

That's awesome. Lots of young adults lose their childhood interest in aircraft when they get down to the nuts and bolts of flying (preflight, checklists, learning procedures), and if your son's interest remains even now it could be quite durable. If his eyes are 20/20 uncorrected I recommend going Air Force, preferably ROTC in college or USAFA.

I know that makes me sound like a recruiter, but there is no better way to get the training (and just as important, the flight hours) to make one a safe, competent pilot. There are other advantages and disadvantages, of course, but serving one's country while doing what one loves is a nice two-fer.

Morning Lodge.

I'm all moved into the new apartment. I don't have cable or internet and I don't think I'm going to spend the extra money to get either. The only thing I'll want to watch over the summer is the Twins, and I'll just go to the bars for that. Over the weekend I found that I can drink for $1.50 a drink, if I do it right and there are awesome specials like .99 tacos, $2 burger and fries and free burrito with purchase of drink. Overall I should be able to get by this summer rather cheap. Now hopefully this dammed short sale gets figured out and I can move into the house sometime over the summer.

I have already found a bartender that resembles Taylor Swift and a waitress that looks like Miley Cyrus. Still can't decide if that is awesome or just wrong.

edit: I went to a bar last night to watch the hockey game, I had 8 drinks and 3 tacos, my bill was $20 :D

If you do that 3-4 times a month you have just paid for cable and internet. Not sure how you think that is getting by cheaply.

Because I'm likely to do that even if I have cable and internet at home. :p

Well, 1 out of 2 isn't too bad in this case.

Blech to both of them.
The Taylor Swift bartender...I think she looks like her only because of the way she had her hair yesterday. There really isn't much similarity in the faces. She was gorgeous, by the way. She was also talking to me about turning 21 in 6 days, while standing behind the bar, working, drinking a beer of her own. Which I found amusing. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 113: Whutchu talkin' about, Meyer?

Going to have a stress test today. :(
Good luck! :)
I had a pt rupture his bladder and end up in the ICU doing that:eek:
Have you had any issues with eyeballing (kids "drinking" vodka through their eyes for a quicker buzz? We saw a video and read about kids doing it...article

Nice!!

Morning, Lodge. Enjoyed the long weekend with tcbg. We went to the beach, went jogging, played Trivial Pursuit and Phase 10, and grilled a lot. :) Just relaxing this morning before I go for a jog this afternoon.

Sounds like a good weekend. As for Clan WTW, we finished laying our back patio (brick pavers) which, along with my recently-built firepit, will go nicely with a stein or two of St. Pauli Dark and a decent cigar tonight.

My next project will be to raise the kids' playhouse on 4x4 stilts, thus making it a "treehouse" of sorts. It's nice for the kiddos because to a 3'-4' person, a suburban privacy fence confines your world quite a bit. When they can stand 5' off the ground they can see the horizon.

After that, no landscaping projects for a while. I will soon have other things to occupy my mind, like the fact that
the 2010-2011 season begins in only 129 days.

Good morning. Hope everyone had a good weekend. :)
Summer colds/allergies suck.

How slow is today going? I went down to grab lunch thinking it was 11AM. :o

'Morning, Lodge.
Booked the hotel for my (former) roommate's wedding this morning. Here's the crappy part: rehearsal dinner is on Thursday night (and that's another rant in and of itself), but the special room rate doesn't start until Friday. Anyone Lodge members in the Detroit 'burbs mind housing me and FM for a night? ;)

When's the wedding and which 'burbs? We're always open to hosting those that need a place to crash, but we're on the north side of things.

Clinton Township. I know nothing about the geography of that area, so I don't know if that's north or south.
If it works out, that would be awesome. It would just be Thursday night, as it would be easier all around for us to be at the hotel Friday and Saturday.

You and me, both. :)
I don't think that's too far out of the way. Probably a nice jaunt down M-59. We've got the space, if you don't mind the mess. I'm working on getting things ready for a garage/yard sale and for an eventual move.

Did you find my sunglasses?

His eyes(and his height) might be a problem but he already wants to go to a service academy:) , not sure he'll have the grades though?
