I missed both the draft and the draft registration. One of my biggest regrets is not having gone into some branch of the service. My uncle returned home from Viet Nam and did everything in his power to steer me away from service. Plus, in 1975-1978 the only reason to go in was either because you had NOTHING else going for you or a judge imposed it as sentencing.

Just thought I'd mention - the hallway of our hotel smells like lemon pledge.

We're about to walk to a liquor store but it's POURING again.

So, while trying to check the air in my tires this afternoon, I managed to get a cute little blood blister on my right thumb. This must have happened during the epic battle with the front passenger side tire. Ugh.

YAY! That's so exciting!! :) And what good timing since you'll be up here to announce it this weekend!!

:) I'm even tidying up the apartment...

Home after a lovely walk by the beach in this weather! :) Apartment is nice a cool (perk to living in the basement). I've got my books outside drying (the few casualties of the most recent flood) and the air-mattress is airing out - don't want to sleep on one that smells like mold. Hung up my National Championship poster/ticket frame from last year (in time for tomorrow's festivities) and my 1995 framed picture. Also decided to create a healthy and easier version of the meal I had at Langermann's in Baltimore for dinner tonight. (Dinner at the restaurant: shrimp and andouille sausage with cheese grits in a bouillabaisse. Planned dinner tonight: shrimp and lentil "meat"balls over rice with chicken broth.)

Is it tomorrow yet? I'm taking tomorrow off work, even though hockey doesn't start until 5 and I could work most of the day.

Yup - Only men born between March 29, 1957, and December 31, 1959, were completely exempt from Selective Service registration :D

I hit that window also, When I turned 18 it was legal for 18 yr olds to drink, when I hit 21 they changed it back to 21 What luck:D

It's 91 deg out and a notice is posted in the lobby that the air conditioning will be turned on on May 15th -- but the heat is off. :mad:

Wish we would have hit those temps last frozen four. It was pretty decent out last year but 90s would have been awesome
