I missed both the draft and the draft registration. One of my biggest regrets is not having gone into some branch of the service. My uncle returned home from Viet Nam and did everything in his power to steer me away from service. Plus, in 1975-1978 the only reason to go in was either because you had NOTHING else going for you or a judge imposed it as sentencing.

Maybe. I just don't know. We were at the tail end. When my draft number was drawn, it was 331 while they took up to about 150 and I threw away my Navy ROTC literature.
