Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

PB just agreed to go and get himself a white dress shirt.

Good move.

It doesn't need to be anything fancy, but don't go getting the cheapest thing in the world, either. If there's a Kohl's or something similiar nearby, that's the place to go. He's likely to need the shirt more often than he realizes.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

I told him to go to JCP, think that'll be adequate?

I think so. I'm not as big a fan of JC Penney's, but I think that's just because the stuff I get there doesn't fit quite me as well as stuff I've bought from Kohl's. I suspect that's just personal preference. It's fine for a dress shirt.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

So, PB has to come to the sorority's date function tonight. Last night, I had the epic idea to set up PB's roomie with one of my single sisters. This is going to be epic.
However, opinions from the ladies. Should PB wear a black shirt, black pants, and a bright silky red tie OR black shirt, khaki pants, and the silky red tie.

White Tie, Red Shirt, Black Slacks ;) thats the way to go

Swap in a green tie and he'll look like a *ing Christmas Tree.
ctf...Google Payne Stewert. Have him dress like that. Thank me later. :D
Khaki pants, red shirt, no tie. Go to Walmart and start acting like a spy. See how long it takes to get kicked out. :)
:D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

And ASAAG, I am definitely out for tonight, although I expect to skate in warm ups, I won't bring my stick. Outdoor practice from 7-8 so the DVR is all set for opening ceremony and the Gophs-DU.

Hey Mr. Cake Eater something tells me you liked a certain high school hockey game last night. I thought about going but I didn't realize Minnetonka was playing the cake eaters last night until yesterday afternoon. If I would have known earlier I probably would have went.

It must have been a fun come back for you to see.

Awww... Payne Stewart. :(

My father meet Payne when he won the 1991 US Open at Hazeltine. According to my father Payne was a really nice guy. The fact that he bought my dad a beer probably didn't hurt. :)

I'm sure it would have been. :(

See the MN High School thread.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 101: Saturday Morning

Very cool. :)

Yeah but it wasn't cool that my dad didn't bring me with. :(

Actually in fairness my dad didn't really have a chance to bring me with.

Payne and Scott Simpson were tied after the normal 72 holes so the rules for the US Open dictated that a 18 holes playoff on monday would determine the winner. A buddy/co-worker of my father had tickets and asked my father (when my father got to work Monday morning) if he wanted to join him.

They spent very little time at work that day before heading to the course to watch the 18 hole playoff. Since they had special press passes they were able to get into the winner's tent area after the round was over and that is how/where my father met Payne and Payne bought him the beer.

I still remember the look on my dad's face when he heard Payne had died in a plane crash. I remember thinking to myself you only met him once. Apparently, Payne was so nice that he made a really good impression with my father.

Hammer, the closest Kohl's is two hours away :p

I could buy one and mail it to him, since I'm a couple miles from that particular Kohl's at the moment, but that wouldn't help much.

Does he have a suit coat or sport jacket? That's his next step to making like ZZ Top and being a sharp-dressed man.

BLAST! I thought I was the only one that played air trombone.

It is a wonderful way to repel women at a bar. :o

It can't help that it looks like you're sucking/jerking a very tall man with a very long, skinny dick. :p

Afternoon, Lodge. I'll have to read back later, since I'm in MQT for the weekend and have some errands to run while Girlfriend is at work. Directional school hockey tonight, then V-Day tomorrow.

See the MN High School thread.

This is what you get when you don't have enough faith in your team to go to the game.

This is also why I never leave a game early you just never know what might happen. See Vikings victory over the 49ers this season. The fans who left early missed the most exciting single moment of the season to beat the traffic.

Beat the traffic, beat the traffic, beat the traffic or You're the traffic, you're the traffic, you're the traffic

I miss those days in the Gopher student section.

 PB doesn't have time to grow a ZZ Top beard.

Oh so the girlfriend has her stay at home boyfriend running errands for her? Do you enjoy it when she has you hold her purse at the mall?

I had to miss the game because my son and I were both wiped out last night, he was out like a light by 8:40. :(

I'll only hold the wife's purse if it matches my outfit - never like to clash, you know.
