Rejoice, Jesus is Risen!

Re: Rejoice, Jesus is Risen!

18For(AJ) the wrath of God(AK) is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19For what can be(AL)

Are the AJ, AK, AL... etc verses? Never seen that numbering style before.

I'm pretty sure in the history of the universe nobody has ever been convinced by either rational argument or fist fight whether God exists or not. Belief is what it is. I believe my wife will fit into her prom dress again someday, and nobody can convince me otherwise. It is extremely important to my morale to maintain my faith.

Does she have equal faith that you will fit into your powder blue prom tux?

I've not seen it before either. I cut and pasted from Biblegateway, and couldn't be bothered to go through and delete them all. I probably should because it makes it imminently more easy to read it without all that stuff.

So what book of the Bible are your passages from?

Re: Rejoice, Jesus is Risen!

That is from Romans chapter one. The passages I put up earlier in this thread are from Romans chapter 3. Not a bad book eh ;)

Not bad at all. ;) That's some powerful medicine, Chief. Lately I've been digging around in the Old Testament. I'll have to shift gears and check out Romans more in depth.

Romans was the Book that Luther based his main premise on when he raised objection to the way the Church was heading.

Well to be specific Luther and Calvin and the other reformers were objecting to where the church was, not where it was headed. The Roman church was fully apostate by that time, as it is now, and the idea was to get back to the church that Jesus gave us, not what it had become.

Romans is truly powerful. I absolutely love that book, as it is the most clear presentation of the Gospel as faith alone in Christ alone. It also is a clear rebuke to all those who think they are smarter or wiser than God, and clearly lays out what happens to a society when they turn their back on God and choose to live in their pride and arrogance. The parallels between Romans chapter one and what has happened in North American society in the past 40 years are stunning. The Word of God is Truth, may it bless you always!! :)
