Real World New Orleans: Our shining 'Knight'?

Is it just me, or does Ryan Knight of the new Real World New Orleans appear to be a bit of a luddite and all around walking stereotype of a dumb hockey player (like in Canada, he would totally be a hoser, eh?). I was cringing for the ability of this Wisconsin native to fit in at the beginning of the show but he really grew on me as it went on. Not a polished speaker :D , Knight proved to be a calming figure in the house in Epidsode 1, tolerant of others, always up to party and all around better guy than Ryan the 'hairdresser' who outduelled him in an initial verbal sparring match. Knight has his revenge in the end credits (...I mean come on, I'd be really embarrassed if I was punched by a hairdresser, wouldn't you??")

So in the introductory bios, there is significant on ice footage of Knight playing pick-up hockey with friends where he tells us he 'could have went somewhere with hockey' (pro?!?) but had to have multiple surgeries on both shoulders which left him addicted to painkillers and put him in rehab. I peg him as a former D-III in Wisconsin -- or else he was just really out of shape D-I who really went downhill in his early 20s? Thoughts?

'cause Season 2 of Jersey Shore doesn't start until next week :) ? OK -- point taken.

Re: Real World New Orleans: Our shining 'Knight'?

People still watch Real World?

Better question:
People ever watched Real World?

Re: Real World New Orleans: Our shining 'Knight'?

Yeah, we watched that a little bit in '92 or '93 or so, just to figure out what the hell it was. That was the beginning of the end of MTV.

Anyone over the age of about 20 that still watches their crap needs to be run over by a bus.

Well as a hockey fan how could you not watch a show with a guy named Puck??

After he got booted there really wasn't much point...

Re: Real World New Orleans: Our shining 'Knight'?

Havent watched Real World in years, but if it has a AZ State hoser "that could have went somewhere in hockey" :p then it might be interesting.

Puck was the first person ever kicked off Real World.

I remember Puck. He was a white-trash turd.
continuing that: He lives in Alabama with his wife Betty and two sons-Bogart, and Rocco.

I hate that I know this, but you are incorrect. Puck was in Season 3, in Season 2 David (which I believe was Pucks real name too ironically) who was a comedian was kicked out in one of the fakest dramas ever! He ended up with a cameo in Half Baked though. (he is the guy at rehab gets mad about at Thurgood being there for weed...right before Bob Saget)

Thank god I learned fast how bad that show was...

Yeah I hate to know this too, but I was still in h.s., but you are correct. I forgot what he got kicked for though. I know a girl in the house tried to say he raped her because he playfully tried to rip of her towel, but didn't think that was it. David was also in the House Party a couple years before Real World.

Re: Real World New Orleans: Our shining 'Knight'?

I watched a few in 1992 only for the novelty of the first 'reality' show.

All I seem to remember is a cute (in a girl-next-door kind of way) girl named Julie (?) from Birmingham, Ala., but that's about all I remember.

She's probably nearing her 40s now with a husband and kids....

Nope, that was it...and it was her blanket IIRC.
