Quinnipiac Bobcats offseason: Redemption in Philadelphia 2014

My article at SBNation on the continued success of QU recruiting and the growth of the program and school.

Nice article, a good read. One thing though: our hockey arena specifically is called the High Point Solutions Arena. The overall complex is called the TD Bank Sports Center. It hasn't been the TD Banknorth Sports Center since its inception, and was never called a "Garden."

Other than that, I quite enjoyed it.

Zack Currie signs with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. Congrats Zack!

Congrats indeed! Zack becomes the sixth straight Bobcat captain to sign a pro deal following Zurevinski, Beaudoin, Henningson, Bates and Cashman. With Currie's signing, one would have to think fellow Bobcat defensemen Loren Barron and Zach Davies will sign ECHL deals soon.

ALSO..

'16-'17 recruit Logan Coomes of Frederick, MD was seen touring campus this past week. With this year's recruiting class potentially being the strongest ever (Clifton, Quenneville, Toews, Anas, Sherbinin, more) it's clear the Bobcats are a destination for talented young skaters and this trend should continue for years to come.

The Phoenix Coyotes posted a video interview with Connor Clifton recently, and he states that he will be playing at Quinnipiac this fall with his brother. So it looks like we can put that little question mark to rest. As a freshman, I expect him to immediately step in and play a big role on the blue line, especially considering how many defensemen we lost to graduation.

Popped in to say hello! Hope everyone's summer is going well. Maine camp just started up and I must say it is a bit strange being in the land of the Black Bears and still thinking about QU. Quick poll: Other than Yale, which game are you most excited for? Maine is the obvious answer for me. I'll do anything to be at that game.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats offseason: Redemption in Philadelphia 2014

In all seriousness, you guys know me well enough... I'm looking forward to ALL the games! October can't come quick enough for me. ;)

We also have the Euro Trip to look forward to. I wonder if we will be able to watch any. I would say absolutely not, but who knows? Maybe Jack will be there to tape them on the iPhone. :D

your boy Clifton scored a goal in today's Team White's 5-2 win over Finland. He actually played the 1st period (when he scored) as a forward, last 2 as D-man. He is a tough little SOB I'll give him that.

Doubtful anything "live", but there will be lots of video and photos coming from Europe

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats offseason: Redemption in Philadelphia 2014

Good luck to the boys as they head to Europe for 10 days tomorrow. Most of all, have fun!
