Quinnipiac Bobcats - 2025 Offseason

Gilson is a good get. He would have been one of our best Dmen this season if he was on our roster. Otherwise we haven't done anything to upgrade the bottom 6 up front.
I think that’s bold assertion… I’ve seen him play. Maybe on par with our top guys… but he a bit shaky in d zone.

It wouldn’t shock me if he had to do too much covering up for the suck of the RPI roster which was downright bad. Put him next to someone like a Groenewold and I bet he’s not shaky at times. The RPI roster was mostly just plain bad with guys that probably shouldn’t be in d1. Hence why Eric lang will gut that roster to the studs.

Ryan Smith is transferring to Miami of Ohio
He should get a lot of playing time there. Only 3 wins last season. 3-28-3 overall. A lot of the conference games were closer than I expected. I guess it was a down year for the NCHC outside of the 2 top teams.

Why don't you consider ASU to be part of NCHC?
Still too new to the conference and an outlier geographically...they are growing as a program but I seem to recall they wanted to be part of the B1G prior. Seems like they would leave if another opportunity popped up...but they are in the best conference.

Clarkson released its full 2025-26 schedule this week and it's pretty good:
2 at Penn State
2 at home vs. North Dakota
home vs Lake Superior State
home vs. Michigan Tech
Lowell & Fairbanks in Lake Placid (Adirondack Festival)
home and home vs. RIT
at Canisius
at Niagara

We see Clarkson at home on 11/21 and then travel to Potsdam 1/31.

I give UND credit. Came to Hamden in 2021...we went out there in 2022. They played at Cornell last year and now Clarkson this year. I wish more NCHC teams would come east.

Logan McCutcheon(Lethbridge(WHL)), 1/19/04, RD, 5’9” 160 lbs, NZ 4.0, skilled, mobile two-way defender, puck mover, speedy, agile, laterally explosive, hi IQ, good puck handler, strong in transition, good decisions under pressure, crisp quick outlets, poise with the puck, excellent penalty killer

Should be interesting... lots of RD depth on the team. Leddy, Gilson, McCutcheon, Hockley, Blace, Tobey (is he coming?). I think Leddy and Gilson have proven their NCAA chops. Will be a dogfight to see who gets regular shifts from the rest. Hockley and Blace both need to shore up their defense to play regular shifts and was not impressed with Hockley on PP #1 when Bohlinger was out. Think Gilson or McCutcheon could fill that need better. Leddy is great on the PK so maybe McCutcheon could be PK #2 for RHD.
