Quinnipiac Bobcats 2025-26 - Viva Las Vegas!

It's going to be like the 2015 regional in Fargo, when Q played UND in the opening round. Just a sea of green in the stands.
While it was done within the structure established by the NCAA, it does seem unfair that 3 eastern teams are being sent to essentially a North Dakota home game. Nothing against NoDak... they earned it for sure. Just makes it sweeter if someone can knock them out.

Congrats on the Hockey East Championship. After Q lost to Clarkson in the ECAC Quarterfinals, I canceled my Lake Placid trip and made plans to attend the Hockey East Championship in Boston. Best thing I ever did! What an incredible game and atmosphere on Saturday night at TD Garden! You should be very proud.

Best of luck on Thursday against UND!
Thanks Drew. I got to see QU twice this year. I thoroughly enjoyed the game against Merrimack, but QU looked really out of sync that night. Also saw them against St. Lawrence at your place, and they had rockets on their skates. Hope THAT'S the team that shows up in SD (unless they end up in the Finals against my Warriors! ;) )

Two great nights at the Garden. My wife thought I was gonna have a heart attack!

Scary at the end, but we pulled it out! Two of our Sioux Falls Stampede alums (Pelosi and Wyttenbach) scored, which is cool. Unless we get humiliated in the Regional Final, I'll consider this season a success, and we're playing with house money from here on out.

Got sloppy in the 3rd and the pitiful 5-min PP swung the momentum to Providence and they made it interesting. I really like the compete level in the first 40 minutes. They played their game and dictated the pace. Awesome job on the dot as well. Silvy was solid in net. All in all a good effort even with the mistakes in the 3rd. Enjoy the win, get some rest and be ready for Saturday!

Go Q!

Good effort. They controlled the first period. Early in the second Providence showed some adjustments and controlled the play the but nothing burger back to back PP's were the killer for them as Quinnipiac scored 3 unanswered goals after that.

As all said above, great effort by the team. Intensity in 1st/second periods, winning face-offs, Silverstein solid in goal. Only concern remains the 3rd period lapses. A bad pass led to the 2nd Providence goal. Need to clean that up, but this team always plays to the moment again top teams when it matters. Win or lose on Saturday, I expect my heart to be pounding after watching a great game.

Eastern schools were 1-6 in the NCAA first round. Quinnipiac is the only one to advance.

0-3 Hockey East
0-1 Atlantic Hockey
1-2 ECAC

Really horrible effort tonight. They got manhandled by the North Dakota forecheck and speed. This team needs major upgrades with size and goaltending as well as neither of these guys are any good in between the pipes.

Really disappointing way to end. We knew the goaltending would be a factor in our demise, we knew our inability to handle heavy hockey teams would be a factor, and we knew the lapses in buy-in would be a factor.

Ultimately the perfect storm tonight. Still a great season, but tough to see such a talented team end it in this fashion. This really was one of the most purely talented teams we’ve ever had, but the goaltending and intangibles weren’t at the level of the 2023 team.

NoDak was on another level last night. They exposed all of our weaknesses and made almost no mistakes. Spunar was a wall. Men against boys.

We never really found our game and the few times we did put something together Spunar said "nope".

I was impressed by the way they backed off and didn't totally undress us. Showed a lot of sportsmanship.

As bad as it was we still had a great season. We were in a regional final... only 7 other teams can claim that. We certainly deserved to be there.

There's a lot of talent coming back with just a few missing pieces that I'm sure Rand will address. The future is still bright in Hamden.

Thank you, Seniors. Especially Victor, Cipollone, and Powers...the last 3 remaining players from the '23 championship team.

And thank you, Bobcats, for another great season. We are truly blessed to cheer on a program that competes in the national tournament year in and year out.

Next year, we want the WHITELAW!
