Quinnipiac Bobcats 2025-26 - Viva Las Vegas!

This is skilled but very finesse and soft team. They really need to add size badly because continuing to bring in these smaller players ain't doing it for me. The lessons of getting their ass kicked by UConn and now Clarkson should maybe rethink the type of players they need to bring in,

I heard from a fairly reliable source this weekend that the family wants him to stay at least 3 years (to ensure his degree). I don't see him leaving unless it's to go pro.

I heard the same exact thing too.

BTW, his family sits in the section next to me and they're such nice people, especially his parents. Hamden is only an hour and a half drive from where they live on Long Island, so I think they like seeing their son play close by.

On senior weekend the Q30 people who stand next to me interviewed his dad for quite a while. I didn't hear everything he said but he was glowing about how well Rand & staff do at developing talent. Being that his dad and uncle both played at Cornell it's a testament to Rand that he chose Quinnipiac.

There were 2 scouts from Calgary there this past Friday , one filming and one taking copious notes.

Dylan Edwards is a fantastic incoming player, but he's also 5'8. Kevin Lyoshir, also 5'8. I get that we have to go after this niche because the big AND skilled players are going to the blue bloods, but I'd like to grab a 6'5 NAHL grinder just to keep other teams honest. Parker Alcos might fit this role but he hasn't been super physical in the Kelowna games I've watched.

Lyoshir isn't coming in next season. Dylan Edwards definitely is and will probably have a similar impact to Verreault or Vidicek. Alcos is coming in as well. If they bring in Alex Kostov which they probably will that is a massive add to the size in the room at 6'4. This team is above getting grinders in the NAHL. They should be recruiting strictly from two leagues the USHL and the CHL (QMJHL, OHL and WHL).

Edwards isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty at least (though it hasn't always ended well 🫣). I know there's no fighting in college, but the willingness to engage physically is there.

as for Alcos, he isn't a bruiser by any means, but he uses his size very well when defending. While he'll have harder bigger competition in college, he has a solid baseline. some kids in junior just don't use their size beyond the bare minimum, but he has it down.

also. 6'3 Lucas Prud'homme and his 152 PIMs with Madison might be who you are looking for?

Prud'homme is the physical player they need but they may keep him in the USHL another year.
