That's terrible for him (and us). He was such a gritty player with skills and was fun to watch. I wish him the best for a full recovery.

Excellent weekend in central NY! Always nice to beat Cornell at Lynah... and thanks to Colgate taking down Princeton, we're in sole possession of 1st place!

Speaking of former players, we just got in from the Panthers/Sharks game in Sunrise Florida. Drove back to Naples across alligator alley-not to bad. A friend arranged for a small group of us season ticket holders from Sect. 113 to meet with Collin Graf and his parents after the game. I have never met him before and it was a pleasure. We met for about 20 minutes before their bus left for Tampa. Both Collin and his parents are great people, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. His grandmother and my sister went to West Haven High school together. My wife asked Collin how he liked California and he replied that he liked Hamden much better. I also asked him about the National Title game in Tampa, and he was glad to reminisce about the Frozen Four. Numerous fights occurred during the game, but what I never saw before was both goalies brawling in the middle of the rink. When the Panthers goalie saw the Sharks goalie involved in a big fight at the other end, he skated the length of the rink, ripped the other goalies mask off and they pounded each other. I hope we continue our good play next weekend for the Ct. Ice.

05 F Dylan Edwards commits to Quinnipiac, plays for Kitchener. He was recently traded from Erie to Kitchener, who are contending this year. He had played with another commit Gabriel Frasca in Erie- he was also traded to a contender in Brantford. Two solid veteran forwards from the OHL

Leddy is still at least a weekor two out if the original 3 or 4 weeks was accurate.

They had UConn on the ropes for the first 2 periods and then let them right back into the game and then another 3rd period collapse. Marinov was hung out to dry on the tying and go-ahead goals.
Credit to UConn for not giving up and Muszelik was outstanding in net (and the difference in the game).
The NPI hit was only 1 position, down to 8th and we're still on top of the ECAC. No more OoC games so we can't afford to lose many more, especially to lower ranked teams.

We have a damn good offensive group, but our goaltending is the thing that has the potential to torpedo our chances at a deep run into April. This team reminds me of Michigan in 2023. Lots of offensive skill, but a lack of defending and goaltending.
Agree. Our goalie issues will kill us making a long run into post season.But let's be honest, nobody had a great night last night. Wyttenbach's multiple turnovers put the team in peril multiple times last night and his play off the puck has a lot to be desired - his youth was really on display. Great player - but I hope the coaching staff addresses some of his issues. Better teams will capitalize. Playing against fast, heavy teams like UCONN is where Leddy is sorely missed. Need to run the rest of the season to set us up for the post-season or our losses against Yale and Alaska will come back to haunt us.

Spot on about Wyttenbach. His struggles were obvious last night. There were a few occasions where he should have shot but instead made a weak dish that was tipped or intercepted. And he nearly sat and watched the breakaway that put UConn on the board.
While I've been critical of Marinov all season, yesterday was not his fault. The defensive lapses and mistakes in the 3rd were obvious. Two weak clear attempts gave the Huskies their tying and go ahead goals. Silvy lost his shutout Friday night on another sloppy play. Both Matej and Dylan have shown they can make big saves in big games.
For some reason our 3rd periods have not been what we're used to. Almost every game we've had sloppy play in the final frame. More notable is teams are still skating with us in the 3rd when in years past we we a lights out team to close out games.
I think we'll be ok going down the stretch as long as they keep their heads in the game. The key is to prevent, or at least limit the mistakes.
