Quinnipiac Bobcats 2024-25 - Meet me in St. Louis!

We were flat all game. Never found our legs. I don't think UConn was much better than us but they skated hard all game. Congrats to them.

I'm content in that we made lemonade out of a season of lemons. For whatever reason we got to the mountaintop but couldn't get over it. Pretty impressive in today's D-I landscape.

I'd also like to say thanks and good luck to all the players moving on to their next challenge. It's been fun watching all of them.

Hopefully we can return our core and learn from this season to make another run next season.

We will be back.

Go Q!

Ultimately, that first period was unsurvivable. We looked nervous in that period, and while it got better in the 2nd and 3rd, just cant recover from that against such a good team.

I could question the decision to go with Silverstein, who fought the puck all night, but it doesn't much matter. Ultimately, losing at this stage of the tournament is probably about what this team deserved. Losing at this stage is a fair result; we were not one of the best 8 teams in the country this year. Huge accomplishment to even get to this point considering all the roster turnover.

Jeremy Wilmer, BTW, was the best player on the ice tonight. Hopefully he sticks with us for another year and doesn't go to the portal or the pros.

We had enough talent to win this game, but we didn't quite have the magic. Good season, and the fact we feel disappointment tonight speaks to how far we continue to climb.

Congrats to UConn on their first NCAA Tournament win. Hopefully this is the start of a good rivalry between the two best programs in CT.
The UConn goalie was the difference, in my opinion. Especially in the third period. The third UConn goal was the killer because you guys were coming on and finding your game. You had the Huskies on their heels. Poor coverage down low enabled them to score and being down two heading to the third is a tough mountain to climb.

That was the backbreaker, but it was the backbreaker because of the way we played in the first period. If we're better in the 1st, that goal doesn't kill the game.

Their goalie was great, but we also didn't generate nearly enough. Quinnipiac was very easy to play against tonight. Too many one-and-dones in the offensive zone, too much east-west fancy play which doesn't usually work in the playoffs. Too tentative at times, especially in the offensive zone. Kevin Weekes said "they should have shot it there" probably a dozen times.

Just got back from Allentown. Always sad to see the season end, but to have it end in the NCAA Tournament (win or lose) just means our boys had a solid season.

24-12-2 and ECAC Regular Season Champs. Not bad for a "rebuilding" season and not bad for a team that started 3-5.

Thanks for a fun ride, Bobcats! See you next season!

This. Exactly this. I will not stand for anyone trying to say this was not a good or successful season. Any year you get to the Dance is a good year. No one else in the country -- not Minnesota, not NoDak, not Michigan, not BU or BC -- has a longer active streak of making the Tournament than we do.

And as you said, all this in a rebuilding year. Can't wait for next year, I expect us to be a lot better. Hopefully the portal gives more than it takes away.

They need to do something about the portal. Players shouldn't be entering the portal after every season of their careers. I want to root for a kid for 4 years and watch him develop.

I think they should limit kids to two portal entries in his career -- once in his original four years, then again for his grad season. It's probably worse in basketball where the men's basketball team just lost virtually its entire roster. This is destroying college sports.

After day 1 the entries are

Noah Eyre
Michael Salandra
Noah Altman
Chase Ramsey
Nate Benoit

The top 4 barely saw playing time while Benoit played in 24 games and wasn’t great after coming over from North Dakota.
