Quinnipiac Bobcats 2020-21 season - Can it get any crazier?

NCAA'S saturday and noone's posting, doesn't seem like much interest here ?

I am always hesitant to post as I have a kiddo on the team, and not sure how it will be received. I will say the lack of respect we are getting from around the country is crazy to me. I can accept the fact our conference was a bit of a mess, yet that has nothing to do with the team. Also mention that my son coming from the Midwest to Hamden was by far the best decision he ever made. We've had some tough losses and have a very tough bracket ahead, yet if Keith is a brick wall and Bonjo does his thing....Dilly has some mojo going and we always know Tufto is going to go full out, just never know. I know a lot of folks around the country who would love to be rooting for their team right now and are instead looking at next year. The SLU loss left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, hopefully its a motivator for the kids. Regardless, QU is a fantastic program that at least gives all a hope.

Wishing I was at the game today. This will be the first season I’ve never seen a game live, and it’s torture, but I’ll be cheering loudly for the Bobcats. Bring it boys!!

Good time to pick your worst period all year fellas. Looks like you’re the only team playing at the high altitude...what the heck happened in the locker room after the first period!!?? Losing every race..every board battle...guess we’re gonna look to counter attack only rest of the game. Maybe their youth is showing at the wrong time. Can’t get the puck out of their own end. Rand better light a fuse under their arse after 2nd period...or a long third period awaits.

I missed the game, but man, blowing a 2-goal lead late in the third period is a rough way to go. Tough season -- I have absolutely no idea what to make of this year. Hopefully next season is better. Definitely think this team could have gone deeper, but we never really got a chance to see how good they were considering the weirdness of the year.

Word on the street is Vegas wants to sign Dilibetatore...best three players last game today. Three huge holes to fill. Brind’Amour was a big disappointment this season. He and Smilanic were non factors today. Need some help from the transfer portal next season.

All 12 ECAC teams are going to start next year randomized.

Definitely Brind'Amour was a massive disappointment. And I agree they need help big time through the transfer portal. They were so top heavy this season that when the first two lines are essentially non-factors they are pretty much done. They bottom 6 needs a lot of work. Also I think they should strongly pursue Cornell goaltender Matthew Galajda out of the transfer portal. He is exactly what they need to fill the shoes of KP for a season.

First, I give everyone involved in the ECAC this season a ton of credit for attempting to make it a season. The sacrifices everyone had to make just to be able to play a game were extraordinary. And even then, every teams had issues to deal with throughout the season. Clarkson and SLU couldn't even finish. A crtazy season indeed.

As for the Bobcats, well, they just didn't have a killer instinct this season. I believe it was a combination of several factors, and it would be unfair to say it falls at the feet of the players or the staff. With last season cut short and this one rocky from the get go, these kids overcame some unprecedented obstacles. I'm sure they left everything on the ice last night. I'm content that they had the chance.

My hope is that all the adversity this season makes for a stronger team next season...

Congrats to Odeen, Keith, Joe, and Josh. A great 4 years and you're leaving the team in better shape than when you started.

Odeen was magical and extremely fun to watch. He was an unsung hero for sure.

Keith paid his dues playing behind Shortridge but made his presence known when given his turn.

That's why both these guys are Hobey finalists. Longshots, but finalists nonetheless.

Joe was always fun to watch. A saw his tweet from after the game last night and must say the room got a little dusty.

Finally, Josh will leave as one of the most respected members of this team. We as fans only saw some very brief glimpses of his on-ice abilities but the ovation and adulation he got from his teammates was second to none Ive seen in the years I've been following this team.

As much as I would have liked to see them playing tonight and maybe getting back to Pittsburgh with a win, I'm thankful to have been able to see them at all this season. I look forward to next season and hope that I'll be able to see them in person once again.

Thank you to the players, staff, and administration that made this season possible, and, once again, thank you to the seniors who gave it all each and every game. Best of luck to all four of you with whatever your futures hold.

Go Q!

They need to get bigger, stronger and more grit on the backend. You notice these MN teams like SCSU and MSU play with intensity, urgency and play each shift like it’s their last. Duluth....well they just turn it on to another level every late March...why isn’t Sandelin in the NHL? 19 NHL draft picks on your roster and a quarter get you a cup of coffee in the tournament (right BU,BC,MN and UND?). Looks like the teams with age, toughness and grit who win the board battles advance. It’s not an open and up and down north/south style of play in tourney...it’s Mano a Mano in the corners. We’re not built for that right now.

We lacked grit, toughness and a sense of urgency in the end. Look close at the GWG in OT. Sandelin just wanted it more than than the blue jerseys and literally beat 3 guys to the puck sitting in the crease. Both Sandelins have punched you in the mouth the last two tournaments Rand....how do you respond?

Quinnipiac picks up goaltender Dylan St. Cyr from Notre Dame as a transfer. Likely going to be the starter next season.

Don't know how much they showed on TV. I was in Loveland and the kids were just sitting on the ice devastated. Odeen looked like he just got shot in the stomach. The kids battled, no question about that! This was just hockey, heart breaking loss. Wish the best for Mankato tonight. We aren't going to get the absolute best and biggest out there. Academic standards are extremely high and the admin doesn't make exceptions. Our kids have to actually go to class. The big name schools will always get the big names. Rand builds kids and as the portal proves, everyone else now its just a business. Sad to see. Glad to see Odeen getting going with Syracuse. School like Quinnipiac will always be special with a unique attitude as long as Rand is the head. Will expect the same out of Dartmouth under Reid.
