Quinnipiac Bobcats 2011-12

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2011-12

Congratulations Quinnipiac ladies!

Vigilante gets a shut-out and the asst coach gives the head coach the game puck? I found that a little odd.

Great postgame video. This win was special for Seeley, as he Coached Clarkson for many years. Pretty sure that had something to do with the game puck deal.

I was at the game yesterday, and Quinnipiac was full value for the win. While this win may have been a surprise to some, given the second half of the season for Quinnipiac, they were considered to be one of the ECAC favorites at the start of the year, and they played like it yesterday. Their good players stepped up and delivered yesterday. Clarkson played hard as well, but they could never really get things going.

This game was decided in the second period. After a pretty even first, Quinnipiac scored on a PP in the second, and an untimely second goal later in the period, took the wind out of Clarkson's sails. Clarkson tried to push hard in the third, but Quinnipiac D team, played solid, and Vigilante shut the door on a couple of quality chances to preserve the shutout.

I was at the Harvard-Quinnipiac game at Bright in early February when the Bobcats were struggling. For two periods, they outplayed Harvard and led 2-1. The roof caved in on them in the third helped by a couple of power plays for the Crimson but make no mistake, Harvard really had to take their game to the next level to win. It wasn't easy by any stretch.

A hot goalie can make all the difference and if Vigilante is on her game Friday afternoon, Cornell may be big trouble. I wouldn't look past this team if I were the Big Red. They are getting hot at just the right time. Remember RPI in '09. You can't take anyone lightly these days.
