Quinnipiac Bobcats 2010 Offseason

MarkEagleUSA

C'mon Q!
Another season in the books. Overall, it has to be considered a successful one, even though we fell short of Albany.

An all-time high of #4 in the polls, an incredible marathon victory in the playoffs, and another 20-win season! Added a couple more members to the 100-point club as well.

While we're losing a very talented senior class, our returning players look very promising as do our incoming recruits.

The future looks good for the Bobcats!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2010 Offseason

With a month to go before the hockey banquet, it's time to talk about the team awards.

MVP - We didn't really have a headline player this season so this is a tough one but my vote goes to Brandon Wong for quietly leading the team in scoring.

Rookie of the Year - Jeremy Langlois led all freshmen in scoring and was a presence on the ice every shift.

7th Man - I can think of several who are deserving of this... personally I like Mike Atkinson for his all out hustle and play-making ability. How many times did we see him streaking down the ice on a short-handed opportunity?

Coaches Award - Jean-Marc Beaudoin did a great job as captain this year and also put up decent numbers. We were definitely a better team overall because of his on and off-ice contributions.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2010 Offseason

Just for reference:
2009/10 season threads had 1497 posts over 2 threads.
Sorry... I forgot to add the details you requested. :o

I did some checking and found that the '08-'09 season was 2 threads totaling 1161 posts and the '09 offseason thread was 267.

There weren't really any other formal season threads prior to that though there was a lot of smaller (less than 100 each) QU threads in general.

In reading through some of the older stuff, it doesn't appear that the fan base has grown significantly, but it certainly has changed.

In other words you're saying, that without my contributions the Q threads would be a vast wasteland stretching through cyberspace? Okay, I can see that. Carry on, Birthday Boy. ;)

Hope you guys do well/did well in recruiting season.

You guys need to come to hockey east pronto.

Best of luck next year, your program is becoming very respectable.

Same message from me... but only come over if you get rid of the giant capital letters posters.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2010 Offseason

A little bittersweet, but congrats to Dan Clarke for being named ECAC Goaltender of the Week!

It's the 4th time this season he's gotten the award (10/12, 11/9, 11/16, 3/17), more than any other goalie.

This article really showed how much Clarke has managed to improve his goaltending skills this season. I think he did very well for most of the season, and he still has much room to grow, but we have already seen that process take place. Who knows maybe household name's of Bud Fisher and Jaime Holden and the whisper of Nick Pisellini will be replaced with Dan Clarke next year :)
