Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Great game to be at tonight. Have tons of respect for St Cloud state. They are a fast and skilled team. Beat Yale

And they are clean. Also very impressed with their game -- very, very skilled. Hartzell won the game for us, plain and simple. That game was a game of the goaltenders -- the better goaltender was going to win.

Quite frankly, that's why I like our team better than Yale's on Saturday -- if it's another battle of the goaltenders, Malcolm has no chance against Hartzell.

Congrats.

I don't care what Bucci and the Mullet keep saying about how you're the team "no one believed in". You've been one of the top teams in the nation for pretty much all year, you earned the #1 overall seed and you're taking care of business. Congratulations.

To paraphrase Brenthoven in another thread: at worst, you guys aren't Cinderellas. You're one hit wonders. :D

I dont know about one hit wonders. If you look at Quinny's recrutment class for next year they have studs coming in. they recrute kids that have size and speed. They are going to be good for a long time. With the building that they have and the what the school offers (which is amazing, if you have seen the place) Quinny is going to be a dominating hockey talent for a while.

They have a talent pool to pick from in there own back yard. the EJHL is the USHL of the East and there are many young kids (16 to 17 years old) there with a ton of talent. Quinny always seems to grab the most talented from that league. Be careful of your words, because when the so called one hit wonders run your team over it might be hard for you to swallow afterwords.

Welp, looks like I'm headed to Pittsburgh then.

What was the ticket situation outside like last night?

Now it's on! I imagine Yale will still play down any rivalry existing.

Will be on the road to Pittsburgh early afternoon. See everyone tomorrow!

Congrats to the Bobcats. That team was for real. Your goalie on the other hand, UNREAL. Man, that guy was outstanding. I'm sure it will be a good game on Saturday night but if Hartzell plays anything like he did against us, you'll have a might nice trophy to hold up and banner to hang in your arena.

-Tip my cap to the Bobcats. Nice win over SCSU... Should be an exciting game tomorrow night!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 Post Season - The view from the top...

Before a championship game I covered a few years ago, one of the players told me, "We'll never matter as much as we do right now."

Well... that's true with this group. But, win this game, you'll matter for the rest of your lives.

Go Bobcats.

BREAKING NEWS - Hamden, Connecticut

Residents of Hamden were awoken during the night with a loud rumbling and shaking that resembled a mild earthquake. At morning's first light authorities found that a large mountain in town located directly across the street from Quinnipiac University had disappeared leaving behind a large gaping hole in the landscape. Leading away from the hole were huge muddy footprints and a trail of dirt leading out of town and down I-81. Conspicuously, during the day today officials throughout Pennsylvania received numerous reports of a huge, yawning, giant bushy like creature accompanied by a bronze Bobcat walking down the Pennsylvania Turnpike towards Pittsburgh.

Quinnipiac fans in Pittsburgh, you had better reserve one whole side of the balcony for tomorrow's game as it appears "you know who" is heading down to join in the festivities and will need a place to sit!

Congrats to you guys. I actually for the most part thought we played a pretty good game but we didn't bury our chances and you guys pounced on our mistakes (Faragher's softie, LeBlanc can't tie up his man, and Prochno made to look foolish). Good luck tomorrow

Sadly, no Hobey for Hartzell. He was a long shot at best as a goalie, but just as deserving as the other 2. Congrats to Drew LeBlanc as the 2013 Hobey Baker recipient.

Hartzy has one more chance to hoist an even bigger trophy!
