Quinnipiac 2010

Re: Quinnipiac 2010

#11 in the USA....
While #11 in the poll is all well and good, if I rooted for the Bobcats I'd be more excited about being tied for #9 in the PWR. That means you are a serious contender for an NCAA tournament berth.

Re: Quinnipiac 2010

Plus, #7 and #8 are playing each other and one of them will have their season come to an end.

(though perhaps there might be some twisted scenario in which UConn having finished 5th in Hockey East and losing the 4-5 tourney game actually makes NCAAs)

Re: Quinnipiac 2010

Congrats to QU on a heck of a series of hockey. It was only fitting that today's game ran as long as it did to find a winner, after the first two games went the way they did. You guys really have something special in Vigilanti. What a talented goaltender, and only a freshman! I expect you guys to be challenging for the championship in the coming seasons with her in net.

Re: Quinnipiac 2010

Well, congrats to Qpac for the No. 10 ranking. Tough luck it comes only after that kind of defeat.

Re: Quinnipiac 2010

Luckly for Quinnipiac they have FredDavenport as their fan!!!! I am sure they appreciate your support.

They should probably rename this thread "FredDavenport's Quinnipiac 2010" or FredDavenport's Bobcats 2010.

Hey Fred.... sorry I didn't post much this season.... did hit about 8 or 9 women's games though.

What's your thoughts on the #10 ranking, and the #9 Pairwise ranking.... think we have a shot to be the 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament? We did beat Northeastern... at their place.... who is currently #8 in PWI.

Re: Quinnipiac 2010

Congrats to Rick Seeley for ECAC coach of the year!

Excerpt from release:
With Seeley at the helm, the Bobcats experienced one of the greatest single-season turnarounds in college hockey history. After going 3-26-5 in his inaugural season with Quinnipiac, Seeley led the team to an additional 16 wins in his second year. The 16-game turnaround is one of the greatest in college hockey history - men's or women's. The feat ranks with Bob Johnson's Wisconsin team from the 1976-77 season that improved 13 games in the win-column from the 1974-75 season. During that year, Wisconsin posted a 24-12-2 record under the legendary coach. The following year under Bill Rothwell, while Johnson coached the US Olympic team which featured several Wisconsin players, the Badgers posted just 12 wins. Seeley has taken a Quinnipiac team that won three games last season, and five the year before, to a 19-win, nationally-ranked program in just two seasons.
