The attendance issue is always brought up over on the Friar basketball forums and I think one of the interesting points people bring up is that the school is around 60/40-female/male. Surveying the crowd the past couple of home games when school is in session, I'd say the majority of the student section is female. This comes off sexist but maybe they just aren't invested in the game as much? Within the few pockets of rowdy fans you rarely see a girl. I don't think this is the reason as when I went to school the loudest person in the student section was a female, but the argument has been brought up. I thought the student section was very full for the Lowell game, but the students, regardless if they were male or female, aren't the liquored up rowdy fan base that you would like to see with a top 20 team. I'll be more mindful of the superfraud student section tonight when I head up to Conte.
