Providence College on the road to Tampa

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Whats the story on Janko.......loads of open seats for the game.......FOF should be closed and emptied during the game.......students stay for the whole Bball games

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Watching the web stream it was nice to see the national championship banner hanging and visible every time play moved into that end. However, the empty seats throughout the rink made me think the place is very much still The Coffin. When students had to buy a ticket to get in, most did stay until the end. I think it is sad the national champions cannot get sustained support from their classmates.

Why is that even open during the game? Should only be open between periods

I was referring to before the game specifically and my own situation where I have a beer before the game. Often times young kids watch the warmup from my seats and I'll usually finish my beer then sit in the upper level near the FOF room and watch the first period or even the game from there. I don't like giving the boot to kids who want to watch the game closer to the glass. They are the next generation of fans and I want them to get hooked on the sports at an early age like I did. :)
In general I don't think PC hockey draws a huge season ticket fan base despite last year and most games are not sold out unless they are playing one of the usual rivals.

I like the play of Ellis so far. Nice save with 11:30 to go in the second on a shot by Matthew Weis. He got screwed on the tOSU goal, whistle should have blown.

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

The goal should not count as the 2 players were in the crease and the puck was not

A W is W, a sweep is a sweep, but a lot of room for improvement.
Ellis was solid, but he did not receive much support tonite. I believe Leaman is not happy with sloppy and undisciplined play. A lot of tickets sold and a lot of empty seats, disconcerting.

lot of tickets
..

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

That Ohio State team will be tough to play against in their division, they have the makings of a good team.....need some discipline and a little less aggressive play and watch out for them......PC is lucky to get the Ws and remain healthy, Columbia is a walk in the park but the team better not overlook them.....lousy attendance and I was told you could not buy single tickets so that is what they get, few students and empty seats and Basketball has not started yet

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

Does anyone know why the Friday 11/13 game at home against BU starts at 6:00? Tough to make a Friday game at 6 and be able to get there on time after work. Hope it has nothing to do with Bball.

Not sure, I think it might be nationally televised, part of a double header. Also, the game at BU the next day starts at 4pm. No BBall conflict, bball plays on the 14th against Harvard.

The BU game is a national televised game. It is game one of a double header.

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa

No way there was over 2k people in the building tonight. 2764 was the official attendance.

I think there is a bunch of PC fans that watch the game from up there...looked up their in the middle of the second and there are fans still up there

Re: Providence College on the road to Tampa
