Providence College on the road to Chicago

Re: Providence College on the road to Chicago

Jake Walman is tied for 5th in the conference with shots on goals. All four players ahead of him and White is tied with him are FORWARDS. FYI, White has played two more games than Jake this year and everyone else ahead of him. Oh yea, his shooting percentage is fantastic at 3 percent.

Taking more shots is a good thing, though...

Re: Providence College on the road to Chicago

Then blame your forwards for not screening the goalie. Don't blame the guy who's pulling the trigger and trying to make plays happen.

One year Bourque, one of my all time favorites had 384 shots on net, 12 goals. Team went to cup finals.

At that level and most D 1 goalies make the first save, end of story

This just isn't true. Rebounds exist. That's how a LARGE number of goals are scored at every level. I'd rather have a guy who lets it fly 10 times a game than one who tries to make the perfect pass every single time.

Its 100% true. Rebounds are created by the first save...

Very quiet in Providence

If the ticket office is to be believed it should be a near-sellout or a total sellout this weekend vs NU. We had trouble getting tickets for a large group of people. First time coming to Schneider, I'm excited.

They probably just didn't want their available tickets going to the unwashed masses of NU fandom. :D

PC sells out nearly every game but fans don't show up that is the issue

Re: Providence College on the road to Chicago

Anyone know what Conway's injury is? Doesn't look like he is playing this weekend.

Re: Providence College on the road to Chicago

Watching on the NU free livestream. With a couple of minutes left in period one, PC could not look any worse. Multiple turnovers in their own end, and no offensive game at all. ***??

Re: Providence College on the road to Chicago

3-0 NU late in the 2nd. The team has issues. Lack of talent is apparent.

Re: Providence College on the road to Chicago

Another brilliant penalty by Pinho with 2 seconds left in the second period.

Re: Providence College on the road to Chicago

Someone woke up that team for the final ten minutes, Hawkey saved their butts in this game as the defense was terrible especially Walman who kept turning over the puck in his own end.

Re: Providence College on the road to Chicago

PC continues to take bad penalties. Taking penalties when you are going on your own power play is the worse. PK was inept. Give them some credit for coming back in last 12 minutes but they need to realize it's what they have to do all game. Leaman preaches it but hasn't sunk in yet I guess. Defense was horrible, leaving Hawkey on an island.

We'll see if coaching staff can get these guys focused for the return match tonight.

Most concerning on the penalties is the returning players getting called.

Conway played last night. Leaman not sure he will play him 2 nights in a row coming off the injury from the Brown game.
