I had to go downstairs to get a drink, did I miss the women's match? ****, I'm sure I missed important developments.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Holy crap, John Cena found people who like him.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

As much as it pains me to say this, he's nailing this story line.

It has to be driving you Cena-haters crazy that he has absolutely nailed his promos for the past month (aside from the horrid "alone with his thoughts" one from last night, but that's hardly his fault). He has outperformed the Rock by a mile, and I'm really starting to enjoy it. I'm not the biggest Cena fan, but you have to be blinded by your feelings toward him if you can't admit he's done a fantastic job over the past several weeks.

Right now the Rock looks like a bumbling idiot, relying on the same four catchphrases week in and week out. I can't wait until he goes away again, and for good.

I've gotta say I've always respected the guy. Hard worker, respects the business, he can actually wrestle a bit if they let him do more than the 5MoD, good with the Little Jimmies, can make other guys look good, does a lot as an advocate for the wrestlers behind the scenes, stays off the Jeff Hardy juice, does a metric *** ton for charity (he has granted the most wishes to the Make a Wish Foundation of any individual person.) He was just stuck being booked as the Boring Invincible Hero and it killed him with the smarks. I'm glad he's finally getting reinvented. He and the booking team are really working toward putting the Boring Invincible Hero schtick behind him, and he's doing a great job of it.

Now it's just fun as hell to boo him to be contrarian and annoy Vince.

I was watching The Rock's first history lesson last night and realized what is wrong with The Rock/Cena feud and that is that it's The Rock in the fued and not Stone Cold. I don't even know why but I feel this feud would of been better as SCSA vs. Cena.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

I agree with the fun in booing him. Anything that perturbs Vince is fine by me. Booing him is just fine, as long as you can admit the guy does everything right, all of which you've already pointed out, Twitch.

The thing is, Cena's points about the Rock are all spot-on. All of them. Rock has made a mockery of himself the past two weeks and his time away from the ring is evident in his rambling, repetitive promos - and let's not mention that he can't seem to climb a turnbuckle without slipping at least once on the way up. Its getting just sad.

All that said - any thoughts as to who they'll have win come WM28?

Oh, and I saw another fantastic sign last night. It was only shown once, for about a second, for obvcious reasons: "Creative has nothing for you." Pretty much sums up the current state of the WWE, if you ask me.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Twitch and everyone else has nailed it about Cena/Rock. Cena has earned a lot of points in the last few weeks. He does seem like a good guy who cares about people and isn't an a-hole backstage. I just like booing him because he's been booked as Captain Indestructible.

I'd say Cena. This will probably be an "idol passes the torch" match like Rock/Hogan. As for who is face/heel, I predict Rock/Cena just roll with whoever the fans decide to cheer for (this is in Miami, so Rock may get a significant face boost.)

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Cena will get booed out of the building. That being said, the movie star won't go over WWE's top draw at the biggest show of the year.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Funnily enough(I know it's not funny. If it ever happened to to me and my future wife I'd be devestated) me and the friends I watch with were joking how she would come back using a miscarriage angle. Yes I already know how awful me and my wrestling crew are.

And you KNOW Vince will try it.

If he makes any reference whatsoever to the Mae Young hand incident I'm done with WWE for good. I'm switching to Ring of Honor, NJPW, Chikara, and Botchamania full-time.

It's those types of throwbacks that keeps me interested. We might see a return of Sexual Chocolate if it were to happen.

Johnny Ace has righted a great wrong and hired Drew McIntyre back. This video needs to be on a 24 hour loop. Notice how they edited out the pop Drew got when he won.
