Princeton 2011 offseason

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

My travels will take me onto campus later this week. I'll drop by the rink and see if I can find out any info for you.

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

Hello friends of ECAC hockey,

My name is Kevin McNamara, and I will be a senior on Colgate's hockey team this year. I've had an idea for a charitable project for the past few years, and I wanted to make sure I implemented it before I finished playing for Colgate and in our league. I’ve spoken with Commissioner Hagwell, and this season the teams of the ECAC are going to join together in a project called Goals for Good.
It will be a campaign relying on the competitiveness of the teams, fans, and alumni bases of the teams in the ECAC. "Goals for Good" will be based out of a website, and on the front page, there will be a standings table, much like the one on the ECAC site, except it will rank teams by money raised. Each team will pair up with a charity or cause close to their university or community.
The front page on the website will have a link to each team/partner charity page which will explain the relation. There will also be a donate button on that page. There will be different options for donations. A donor could donate by the amount of goals that a team will score over the duration of the season (example: John Smith will donate $1 for every goal that Colgate University scores this season), a donor could donate by the amount of goals that a team will score over the course of a weekend series (example: John Smith will donate $1 for every goal that Colgate University will score this weekend against Harvard University and Dartmouth College), or a donor could donate a one-time amount (example: John Smith will donate $5 to Colgate University and Charity XYZ).
As of now, we are working on finishing the website. I am also trying to spread the word of the initiative as much as possible to build a fan base for the start of the season and the launch of the website. Goals for Good is trying to build its fan base through a Facebook Fan Page. You can find the Fan Page at www.facebook.com/goals4good. It would great if you could “Like” the initiative and spread the word. I am also new to this process, so all comments and suggestions are appreciated. Sorry for breaking your thread, and thank you very much for your time and support.

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

The 10 Sophs all played as Freshmen and really are the backbone of the team. When they are seniors Tigers should be challenging for ECAC title.

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

Does anyone have information regarding the Princeton/Quinnipiac matchup? I know someone tried to stick it in the NCAA spreadsheet, but ended up getting one of the games on the same day that Quinnipiac plays Sacred Heart. Although I think it was a M/D/Y vs. D/M/Y issue (because the person put 01/11/11 for November 1st 2011), I'd like to get it clear.
Schedule just went up:

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

Man, I hope this coaching change isn't like the last one... admittedly, Gadowsky hasn't left the team in as much disarray as Quesnelle did, but it's always scary when you've got a new coach and a team as young as ours. Here's to an interesting year ahead...

Also, may I say that it is nice to be back in the US and on the forums. Seriously!

The Tigers will do just fine. New coach knows what it takes to win and nice returning core of players.

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

Tigers offense looked very strong in the 2 preseason games this past weekend. It will be interesting to see if we can keep it going at the Ivy Shootout vs. Yale and Brown. Looks like Coach Prier is planning to play wide open hockey: should be a fun team to follow.

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

It will be interesting to see how this very young Tiger team adapts to the new coach and his systems. I think that their extreme youth will help in that regard , as they dont have much (or any) training in the Gadowsky ways.

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

You have until 7PM toknight to get your picks in or revise your picks in the ECAC Pick The Standings Contest.

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

Hello fans of Princeton Hockey-

I just wanted to quickly touch base with you in regards to the Goals For Good project. In short, it's a competitive goal-a-thon between every team in the ECAC, and every team has partnered with a charity in close relation to their team, school, and or community. We're currently looking for more prizes, but as of now, there is $1,000 on the line going to the local food cupboard of the team that raises the most money. Please check out www.goalsforgood.org to learn more and support your team and their charity by way of their goals and wins.

Thank you,
Kevin McNamara

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

How do you think Prier is doing? Team looks a little lost, and arent getting the number of shots as in years past.

Re: Princeton 2011 offseason

Prier appears way over his head. Players look lost, and not responding to him. Hear he is a major hothead. Wow what a disappontment
