After the intelligence briefing, Trump said:
"While Russia, China, other countries, outside groups and people are consistently trying to break through the cyber infrastructure of our governmental institutions, businesses and organizations including the Democrat National Committee, there was absolutely no effect on the outcome of the election including the fact that there was no tampering whatsoever with voting machines."

And his proof point for this conclusion was same unspoken, yet always implied one he uses for nearly all his assertions,claims and attacks on those who disagree with him: "Because I said so." At least he's seems to have abandoned "Many people are telling me..."

I love the quote the author writes. “For 13 years college snots sat on their lazy asses while the U.S. government waged immoral and unconstitutional wars, but now they take to the streets because the candidate of the proles defeated the candidate of the 1 percent? Gimme a break!” while simultaneously forgetting the fact that 13 years ago, "college snots" were at most 8 years old. :rolleyes:

Dr. Mrs. formulated an interesting theory. Trump may be the most "compromised" person in history. Putin has something on him. According to that liberal rag WSJ he owes Wall Street hundreds of millions and may actually be near personal bankruptcy. The Intelligence Community is already signalling they have stuff on not just him but Uday and Qusay. And the GOP Congress can always threaten him with impeachment.

My response: is it possible to be so compromised that you are free? With so many contradictory operators, is it possible the poor sap can just throw up his little hands and go his own way?

I'm not sure you can be compromised when it's all about feeding your own ego. He has no vested interest in obtaining any goal other than that. He has pulled off the ultimate con and holds the big talking stick now. And if it were to be taken from him tomorrow, his own self image has probably already petrified in this bloated condition, leaving him immune to criticism or ridicule. In that sense, I think you are right.

Feeling a bit melancholic about Obama leaving office in a fog of doubt and fear. He held America to a higher standard, and we tripped over the first hurdle and fell on our faces. Then rather than get up, sat around whining about the refs. (To mix a bunch of metaphors that may not be very apt.) Like MLK jr, posterity will be kinder than his contemporaries.

I really worry about things like this advocacy of war crimes thing. it's encouraging smaller countries to do it. I thought Obama for all his faults, was a pretty good and fair guy.

He does have one more. To use the office and powers of the president to funnel as much cash into the Trump pockets as they can carry.

Yeah...he may be close to bankruptcy now but he wont be by the end. He is now Gordon Gecko on steroids, the ultimate Insider Trader.

I actually think Charlie Croker is a better comparison. A Man in Full is a great book for those who haven't read it.
