POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Let's just say that many of their "on the street" members are not ideal marketing material and that most of their less-than-savory actions are not publicized on the national news.

There are a bunch of sh-t cops, too. So by your own definition, that means cops are all sh-t?

I'm not quite following your logic. I'm sure it's my fault. What definition of mine are you referring to? I've actually come out against the "kill the cops" craze, even though I'm sympathetic to the oppressed classes. What you and many others so often forget is very simple: People are individuals. Write it down.

Trump's tweets have become increasingly concerning to me. It seems every time I turn on a news channel he's said something else that makes me smh. At some point the result will go well past innocuous. He and his minions think it's cute and clever, but the rest of the world?

There was a psychiatrist on the Trumpcast this week explaining how precisely this behavior fits with NPD. It was quite interesting, but scary, in that this shrink seems well aware that the world might be ending any day now due to Trump's thinking disorder and the inevitable results.

We elected a less experienced Rob Ford to the White House.

I'm so glad that, what with a major security briefing today, our President-elect finds it's just as important to tweet about his former job. If the ratings continue to slide, will he ignore his previous statement of not doing anything and exert his powers as Executive Producer and step in? Because, you know, he can do it in his spare time.

What's the amazingly stupid part, other than him spending the transition time period to watch and criticize his old show, is that he's still executive producer of that show, and I would assume, still makes a good chunk of cash from it. And yet, he's so stupid, he's slamming something that makes money for him. Probably less money the lower the ratings go. So go ahead Donald, tank that show. Drive it into the ground.

He pocketed almost $500K just selling access to himself at his New Year's Eve party alone. He'll do just fine.

His devotion to "any publicity is good publicity" hasn't really betrayed him yet. I think he might be intentionally drawing attention to the show.

I'm willing to bet, based solely upon the strong evidence of identity politics in this country, and the results of the 2016 election, that this is the last time the Democrats choose a white candidate to represent their party in the general election. If not the 2020 cycle, then the shift will begin in the 2024 cycle.

Then Senator Obama was able to get out the vote with minority groups the way that Sec. Clinton never did. The same sorts of voter suppression attempts were made by the GOP in 2008 and 2012 as 2016, but people worked around them to vote for Barrack Obama. The man had two superficial things going for him that Sec. Clinton did not - charisma and a darker hue to skin.

Perhaps a charismatic white person - man or woman - could pull out a win for the Democrats, but it wouldn't be as decisive as Pres. Obama's two wins were.

Winner.

Trump has folks talking about his show today.
And that'll cause some of those folks to tune in next week (call it the "slow down to gawk at the wreck" factor).

This is where I'll steal Kep's term: suckers.

As long as folks pay attention to Trump's tweets, he wins.
Oh, and the rest of the GOP (Pence, Priebus, et al) wins too because folks are watching the wrong hand.

I think charisma is the number one trait required to become president. It doesn't mean you'll make a good one, but you have to have it to get in the door.

The only President in my lifetime who didn't have any of it was Bush Sr.

As much as I'd personally like a technocrat who just wants to get shiat done in office, I know that will never happen in our system.

GHW Bush prospered in the '88 election because his opponent was Dukakis. At 11 years old, not knowing anything about politics and not caring, I knew about Dukakis and that tank jockey blunder of his. Watching video of him during the nightly news that my parents had turned on during dinner, even I said he looked like an idiot at the time, completely out of place.

I've been convinced 100% that Bernie would have run away with it. He would have got all Hill's votes plus WI, MI, etc. with the malcontents going for him as the outsider. In fact I think Biden would have won also but I'm not quite 100% on that one.
To be fair, I was also 100% sure, at the time, that Hillary was winning it.

Repubs auto news filter: If it's something bad, it's because Trump hasn't taken office yet. If it's something good, it's because he's been duly elected.

I think Biden wins by more than Bernie does. For whatever reason there is something like able about him and he seems trustworthy, two things Clinton most definitely did not have. I wouldn't have been upset at all if he had been elected.

No, Hillary was the one I didn't want to win. I've wondered if it's irrational how much I detested her but know a lot of others feel the same way. Trump could wind up being a disaster but I think she would have been worse. All you have to do is look a what a mess she made of the Middle East. I know she inherited a tough situation but she did nothing but compound the problems over there.

Here's a hint: it's irrational.

Spooky.

I read an opinion like this in "The American Conservative" :p the other day. This from a Stein and Nader "localist" voter/writer. He feels pretty sure Hillary would have started WWIII to our certain destruction. I don't know what all goes into that opinion or feeling, but some smart people share it with you.
