POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

You don't recall Republicans flying these accusations about Obama prior to him taking office?

He's saying that the right did make those accusations but those accusations were vapid and false.

An arsonist starts a fire at the children's hospital. He then goes across town to the bar and calls in a fake report of a fire.

Sicatoka is saying the fire department should treat both reports the same. They use the same language therefore they cancel out.

We will see the first, "This isn't what I voted for" quote coming from a Red State within the next two weeks I predict.

Somebody (Townhall?) already started that when he picked Tillerson and Clayton.

Suckers.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Trump's cabinet hearings are being scheduled, and a glut of the more controversial will take place next Wednesday. Not surprising, as the yelling about each pick will overwhelm the news cycle and become background noise. Also scheduled for next Wednesday? Mitch McConnell has announced plans to bring any bills to a vote on that day.

Too many fires to fight (GOP issues) and not enough firemen (News Reporters) next Wednesday.

Oh, and to top it off, I saw on Twitter (so, not sure how true) but Paul Ryan is holding an informal telephone poll to see if the citizens agree that ACA should be scrapped. Voice-mail box is full, but people are able to still get through to the touch tone poll prompt to voice their displeasure (most likely we'll never know the results as the GOP plows ahead with the dismantling).

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

I'm torn because on the one hand I think Trump is a nullity and the presidency's contribution to the next four years will be zero, but I also think Trump is a megalomaniacal narcissistic as-shole

Trump wanted the street address and the job title --> Look at me, look at me.

The guy to be wary of is the guy who was running the R huddle this week* on The Hill while Obama was running the D huddle.

So, ******* McConnell is shoving it all into one day so it doesn't get reported or understood by the taxpayers? ****tard doesn't begin to describe him.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Didn't vote for him but can't stop coming to his defense nor falsely equating him to Obama/Hillary.

I'm not defending anyone.
I'm saying I heard this same thing eight years ago from Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, et al, that I'm hearing from the Left (Maddow, Hollywood, et al) today.

Same tune, new verse, but same message: the guy's a tyrant out to obliterate his opposition.

False equivalency for the win.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

And I asked you to provide some tangible evidence of all those cries from eight years ago.

In other words, you're defending him.

Everyone can say "false equivalency" until they're blue in the face. It must be the in vogue approach.

I'm saying all the dire warnings of "tyrant" today echo and rhyme with the dire warnings I heard a mere eight years ago.

And by doing so, you're making a logically flawed argument.

You're essentially saying because the last coin flip was heads, this coin flip will also be heads.

Or perhaps to more appropriately analogize this scenario, you're arguing that because it snowed on this day eight years ago, it will again today. Even though numerous events happened in the intervening years, and you're now making this statement from a beach in the southern hemisphere where it's summer. But what happened eight years ago on a totally different side of the world is totally relevant to this prediction.

I agree he will be dangerous to the degree he is the "real" president, but I don't think Trump's ego can take that. Once the secret leaked Trump would disavow him and start acting like a little b-tch.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

I'm saying I'll believe it when I see it.

Regarding what was said in 2008, all you have to do is dig through the archives of right-wing talk radio. As I said, Hannity, Limbaugh, Levin, et al (the usual suspects) had Obama destroying every possible thing beloved by the Right.

Now the talking heads on the Left are telling me that Trump is going to destroy every possible thing beloved by the Left.

Frankly, it sounds like the sides traded scripts and updated a few words.

This is where "false equivalence" will be trotted out, and I'll say I don't see Obama's gun confiscation (the canard circa 2008 from the Right) and I don't see Trump's flag burning amendment (I'm not saying it won't happen, but it's a great canard so far).

What some of you are claiming is "defending Trump" is far from. I'm saying I don't believe the talking-heads, from either side, right now. They're all talking points and demonizations, lots of heat and little light.

Of course the difference is the talking heads eight years ago were making shiat up, while the talking heads today are quoting Trump directly. Now you can choose not to believe a thing Trump says, but stop acting like the talking heads are all talking out of their asses. One group's commentary was based on truthiness, the other is at least grounded in reality.

The fact that you either don't understand that difference or choose to ignore it makes you either willfully ignorant or maliciously obtuse
