POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

About 2 mins til he’s acquitted

Washington Post: Romney to vote to convict Trump on charge of abuse of power, becoming the first Republican to break ranks.

So, nearly as rare as a unicorn, there is a GOP Senator who will put country over party.
Washington Post was wrong.

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

Proud of the Dems on this one. All of them. Took some courage for Manchin, Jones, Tester, etc to vote to convict on both articles but they did. These are the same Dems that voted against ACA repeal and tax giveaway. Whenever some loon tries to con you into thinking there's no difference between the Dems and the Republicans in Congress, remember to bring this vote up.

The worst Dem is better than the best Republican every day of the week.

Also, for me personally I'm now retiring the "Mittens" name and going with the Mittster. Good for him for ditching the cult. Saw on CNN that he's the first senator in history to vote in favor of the conviction of a Prez from the same party. He also just completely fuked Gardner, Collins and McSally. If he can buck Chump in a deep red (albeit quirky) state, one wonders why those 3 were so willing to support treason?

Nah he just doesnt need Trump's fundraising as much as the rest. Since it wont matter he can pretend to vote conscience and not risk anything.

That is good...because if things go south a year from now when you are trying to do the Talk Show circuit (like Michael Steele) and pretend you were never a party to Trump or his crap it wont take much work to prove you are a moron.

I gotta say, it would be another tactical mistake for the GOP to alienate the Mitt Romney's in the party.

Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

No, I mean, Trump will go after him. With every resource his position affords him to use.

Whether it's effective or not doesn't matter. Just that the 'head on a pike' threat that gave all the Republicans the vapors, looks to be an actual thing.

Like that's a surprise.

Has Mitt ever been to Ukraine...asking for a friend.

I gotta say, it would be another tactical mistake for the GOP to alienate the Mitt Romney's in the party.

They don't have much choice now. Their voters, media, and even a lot of their Members are full on Nazis. Romney and whatever he can create as an alternate power center is going to have to be the germ of a post-fascist Republican party, assuming they are even able to redeem the name. That will depend on what these losers do from now until they are scraped off America's shoe. Concentration camps? Nuclear war? Environmental holocaust? Global economic catastrophe? The sky's the limit with these doofuses.

There will always be a Right -- that's a natural portion of the spectrum. There was even a Right in West Germany post-war. But the Republicans are angling to make their party into this century's equivalent of a swastika. That kind of stain doesn't wash out. Ask all the Adolphs born since 1945.
