On February 21st and March 2nd I had to make emergency trips to the store because of this issue. I can send you the backup if you would like.

Emergency trips to the store cause you ran out. But you managed to get some from the store.

So, I'm not seeing it.

The first trip they didn’t have it at the first store I went to so I had to go to another place. The second time is actually a very sore subject. I bought a tin of another type and it didn’t meet my wife’s standards but she never returned it. After a couple months we just gave it away and I was out $40 or whatever it cost.

The shortage got better for a bit and then I clearly remember my wife texting me one morning when I was driving to work saying it was going to get really bad again. I believe that was sometime in early April. We stocked up at that point so it hasn’t been an issue for us.

Your post is mostly correct, but I think that Biden’s administration should have realized without supply from the Abbott plan there was going to be a shortage and taken appropriate action at that time. This was easily avoidable and the administration didn’t do anything until it was a full blown crisis. If random people like me knew this was an issue months ago the administration should have known as well.

100% correct. Oh, and also the tidbit that socialism is fine as long as it goes towards rich corporations or rich people. Privatize the profits, socialize the losses IS the United States Economy.

But Biden and the democrats have nothing to do with that and too much to do with a shortage of baby formula, right Drew?

Of course they should get some credit. We desperately need the supply and hopefully these new factories come online quickly. I drive by a Toyota dealership once in awhile and it’s shocking to see their lot empty.

Sucks when capitalism fails, don't it?

Remember when Trump did that in Wisconsin with that High Tech company but then the High Tech company lied and never hired anyone anyway.

Foxconn, aptly named, was praised by Dump, but it was the making of our equally bad governor, Scott Walker, and his state republican cohorts. I'm sure Ron Johnson had a significant role too. It's exactly the kind of thing Trump would do, though: accept flattery from the party on the other side of the table, give it all away, and claim credit for the best deal in history. Even when it's all burning down around him.

I posted an article about Foxconn last year and yeah there was a RonJohn connection but I dont remember what. That was one giant bridge to nowhere...

Capitalism with stringent oversight and leveling taxation works.

There, I said it. This is why I'm not allowed on the cool kids' reddit communism subs.

Anyone with a brain knows that a well-regulated market system with laws to protect labor, stringent anti-trust enforcement, and properly funded safety nets is the way to go. "Communism works, it's just never been implemented right" is for college poli sci stoners and occasionally triggering knucks who are gonna label you a GD commie bastard anyway no matter what you propose.

But that's a false choice, as it opposes a mixed system proposed as a governing solution with an ideal type proposed for analytic purposes.

OTOH, comparing straight, unregulated capitalism with straight, unleavened communism is the meme "Even if you win..."

I am certain the next dominant economic system will be as unlike capitalism or communism as they are to each other. We never see what's coming next, that's why it isn't here yet.
