I'm half way through that list, and I'm pretty sure all I've seen are henchmen from License to Kill, half of Moore's baddies, and the villains from the weakest Brosnan films...

Which tracks. This list is pretty accurate.

Also, Rosamund Pike should have been more involved in Die Another Day, but the studio wanted Halle Berry as a "big name draw." (rolls eyes)

*Edit* How many villains are in License to Kill? I think k I counted 30 on that list. Haha. I avoid that Dalton film and prefer The Living Daylights.

Just remember how messed up License to Kill is. It is up there for worst plot of all time. The Dalton films are both stupid but it's by far the dumbest.

Moonraker, View to a Kill, Man with the Golden Gun, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Octopussy, Die Another Day, Never Say Never Again/Thunderball are all awful, but Bond Chases the Druggies is the worst film of the series.

Outside of Goldeneye the Brosnan films are just awful scripts and some weird choices for actors. Nothing worse than Denise Richards as a fucking Nuclear Physicist or some such nonsense. (Christmas comes TWICE A YEAR **chortle** **gag** )

I don't know any doctor jokes.

Halle Berry was worse than Denise Richards, fight me.

Yeah...outside of Wayne Newton as the Televangelist, the delicious Carey Lowell as the Bond Girl and a very young Benicio Del Toro the film is just downright stupid. When you are 10 though it is kind of fun. Now it is like a bad B movie.

I don't even remember Halle Berry that is how bad she was. Honestly outside of Goldeneye I saw the Brosnan films once each and forgot almost everything about them. The only reason I remember Denise Richards was the stupid Christmas line...and the fact that she is such an awful actress you can basically see her reading her lines during scenes. She acts like a kid in her elementary school play, I half expected her to waive to her parents in the audience. There are two reasons she got that part and there are better movies to see them in.

They were on all the time (though I was in my thirties). I'll bet the rights were cheaper because they sucked.

Considering Ted Turner bought MGM/UA for $1.5 billion in 1986, he needed something to showcase on his superstations. When the old owner of MGM came begging for it back, Ted sold it but retained the rights for a while. (that's why some old MGM content is now (back?) with Warner Brothers.) MGM then got sold again, and bought back by the same owner once more (what a fu**ing white elephant gift this movie studio must have been), MGM was finally dumped on Sony in 2004 who further cannibalized it. (And finally got to make "their proper Bond film" thanks to the stupid Thunderball writer fiasco.)

TL;DR: Ted Turner had dirt cheap rights to air the Bond movies on TBS/TNT for better than a decade and fully took advantage of it.

[...] Denise Richards [...] There are two reasons she got that part and there are better movies to see them in.
Like Wildthings.

But that discussion is better in the movies thread.

This is me for the Craig films except only the first 75% of Casino Royale is bearable.

A real missed opportunity, too, since Craig is the only Bond except Connery who is able to capture the grotesqueness of the character.

The first kill scene in CR is however the single best scene in the entire canon and one of the most intimately brutal things I have ever seen. It would just have been gross without the 25-year buildup from all the other ones, but given that it was freaking genius.

Goldeneye works all the way through. And it has the only Bond villain I wanted to win.

I thought all but quantum were great in the DC series. Goldeneye was the only watchable brosnan. Didn't care for many of the others.

“Based on the data, President Biden and the Democratic Congress are set to preside over the strongest two-year performance on growth, jobs, and income in decades.”

Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell, Half of CNN and Politico (the parts not making up crap about Kamala Harris) are working feverishly on articles to prove this is good news for the GOP.

Oh and...

Worth pulling it all together so we have it handy for social media to counter Nazi propaganda and corporate media irritainment:
  • I’ll start with the economy. It’s the strongest of any 1st term president in 50 years.
  • Corporate America is exploding because Biden’s Covid-19 vaccination and American Rescue Plans reduced the jobless rate to 4.2% in November from 6.2% in February. Also, the GDP growth in every incoming administration during the past four decades never exceeded 2.74% until 2021.
  • Through the American Rescue Plan, Biden threw $66 billion into 36 million households- think that helped the economy and children eat?
  • The Rescue Plan cut the child poverty rate in half- they said he couldn’t get this bill done, which is something of a trend now. Then Biden followed up and passed the historic $1 trillion infrastructure deal. This bill addressed a major public safety crisis on multiple fronts.
  • The infrastructure bill put $550 billion of new federal investments in America's infrastructure over five years. Also, Biden got $1 billion to reconnect communities -- mainly Black neighborhoods -- that were divided by highways and other infrastructure
  • Biden invested $66 billion in passenger and freight rail. He is modernizing the Northeast Corridor line and bringing rail service to areas outside the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. He also provided a $65 billion investment to improve the nation's broadband infrastructure.
  • 4.1 million. That’s how many jobs Joe Biden created in the first 6 months of his administration. Why does that number matter? Because that number is more jobs than in the 12 years of the Trump and Bush administrations combined.
  • Going back, the U.S. economy grew at a groundbreaking rate of 6.5% during the second quarter of this year. Biden signed 75 executive orders undoing Trump administration policies that damaged the environment, endangered national security, or violated Americans human rights.
  • On climate, Biden U.S. re-entered the Paris Climate Accords and re-joined the World Health Organization. Biden also repaired our embarrassingly damaged relationships with allies after 4 years of Trump’s antics.
  • Biden has appointed new judges at a faster rate than anyone in fifty years. He’s also appointed the most diverse cabinet in American history as well as the most diverse set of judges. And Biden ended the 2 decade war in Afghanistan, something nobody before him could do.
  • 71% of Americans are vaccinated. School openings were at 46% when he took office- they’re at 99% now. And for my student debt activist friends- Biden cancelled more than $11.5 billion in loan cancellation for over 580,000 borrowers- and he said he will keep his campaign promise
We are a week away from an election year, so repeat after me: Biden is great, the Dems are great, they have done a fantastic job, they need more seats and more judges and MORE VOTES to make Americans' lives even better.

Biden pauses student loan payments til May 1st. I think the Progressives might convince him to finally cancel a bunch of debt with the midterms coming up.
