I dont believe Sicatoka thought the Ukraine deal was anything bad...and since we know he loves security I would assume he would be fine with this call as well.
 
Did anybody see Biden's speech re: Afghanistan? I missed it but even the guys at my work who hate everything with a (D) after it said it was a good speech.

Well, depends. If President Hillary made that call looking to extort Ukraine for dirt on the Trump Org., it would be the crime of the century.

Like her emails, don'tcha know.
 
Because he apparently really needs a job, they’ve finally found a place for Rahm Emanuel as ambassador to Japan. Going to the Senate for confirmation.

Japan? We couldn't give him Spain or Italy or Greece or some other second tier EU member state where he can be fat, corrupt, and happy like he wants to be, and leave key regional diplomatic relationships to the adults?

OTOH, Bob Reich is a genuinely nice man. Dr. Mrs. has met him. She says he is also always dumbing it down when he appears in public, which is pretty fucking astounding considering he comes across as the smartest person in public space outside of actual STEM geniuses.

I hope your wife is right. Reich comes off as kinda dumb sometimes. Ive questioned why I still follow him on Twitter sometimes because his posts are too close to the Klippensteins (or whatever the f their names are).

If he really is that smart, he hides it well.

He's very smart. He learned, painfully, from his experiences having William Jefferson back the bus over him, that being smart and being right are not nearly enough. You have to have at least some portion of Great Unwashed on your side.

I think he has made the transition very well. He's probably the only Populist I trust. He knows that 97% of the gen pop will never follow a graph or understand a chart, so he has to slather the truth with homespun goop that Farm Boy and Suburban Girl can swim around in. But at the bottom are those terrifyingly cold equations that turn anyone with a brain into a knife-wielding Marxist.

The truth is it's so bad I am not nearly Left enough to fix it. What's coming is only comparable to Foundation -- we won't stop the dark age, but maybe we can reduce it from a thousand years to only a hundred. Getting free of capitalism won't happen in a day. We are deep, deep in the sh-t.

Not worth the effort. But 1/20/23 is a key date. If KH becomes president (not Acting President under Section 4 of the 25th A) after that date, she gets 2 more cracks at the big chair in 24 and 28.
 
For all anybody knows for sure, the Dems will sweep to supermajorities in the midterms. Everybody* keep your skirts on.

* Redheads under 27 use your own judgment.

Hmm. Not sure I’m seeing Kamala being the one to break that barrier. Unfortunately, barriers need Jackie Robinsons, and Kamala is no #42. See also: Clinton, what-was-her-name-again?
