POTUS 45.7 - Has the left reached the acceptance stage yet?

Re: POTUS 45.7 - Has the left reached the acceptance stage yet?

I love that you're quite sure this is a big nothing burger, but haven't even bothered to look into any of the details.

I did actually read the link you posted, listened to the podcast and read some of the articles it was based on Saturday morning, as well as some backstory on it. It was interesting and I meant to say thanks for posting, but I got sidetracked, so thanks for posting.

Clearly Trump can be linked to the "Russian emigre", Felix Sater. Where it falls apart for me, and they just sort of skate over it IMO, is actually linking Sater to any Russian mobsters, let alone the Russian "Boss of Bosses". They just wildly speculate on that point, and without that you just don't have much. (Maybe Sater is like those freaky kids in that movie Salt though, as he left Russia at 8 years old.) But still, they at least took a swing at the point I had made before, which is, is there any evidence of an actual crime anywhere in all this noise?

I'm not "quite sure" and I have said like 5 times now that I've just been skeptical of collusion. Haven't seen or heard about the specific evidence yet, but I'm certainly inviting anyone to point directly to it.

Lastly, and more generally, I've taken the time to type out a couple of posts about what I see as problematic in the narrative. Anybody is free to disagree at their leisure. Perhaps the posts weren't all that enlightening, but then again, you get what you pay for. Naturally though, any dissent can't make it through the day here without the "he's a Trumpster!! line being deployed. It's pretty tiresome, but totally expected.

While something truly ****ing is yet to come out, there is a lot of smoke and seems to be a somewhat major revelation weekly, including today's Erik Prince story. Some decent sources to see many of the connections here:
Wapo has a handy connection tool here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/trump-russia/?utm_term=.3205095cfc18
Rep. Eric Swalwell's website has a somewhat comprehensive list as well here https://swalwell.house.gov/issues/russia-trump-his-administration-s-ties
Mother Jones with an insanely detailed list of events http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/03/exhaustive-history-donald-trump-russia-scandal-timeline
And of course you have the countless denials from the Trump admin that anyone EVER talked to Russia. Why the denials if it's all above board? Coming out with the truth up front would have prevented this weekly cycle of damaging leaks.

As for the links to Russian mobsters, those are actually pretty easy to make directly to Trump through real estate dealings

Re: POTUS 45.7 - Has the left reached the acceptance stage yet?

Thank you Susan Rice for creating the Benghazi mess and now absolving the Trump administration of the Russia mess. You truly are a Patriot and a Democrat.

Re: POTUS 45.7 - Has the left reached the acceptance stage yet?

If I am reading right...all this drama because she asked for the names of people who were caught up in the surveillance of Russia? (the ones that were redacted) This is what the media is having a cow over? Even the Bloomberg article that broke this said that it was legal and that it wasnt even a special practice for just the Trump team.

And again...this doesnt come close to proving in any way what Trump actually said. The media is asleep at the wheel again...

None of that matters and you know it. You cannot tell me with a straight face that if Hillary were in office right now and all this was going on she wouldn't be impeached already.

Another topic. Anyone see John Oliver's story on Marijuana this Sunday? Did you see how Marijuana is still listed as a schedule one narcotic above Cocaine and Crystal Meth? Anyone see how he pointed out how screwed up everything is because the States went ahead and passed laws that oppose the Feds? And no one is fixing that? And in fact Jeff Sessions the Attorney General thinks Marijuana is evil despite all the wonderful things we have found that it does for sick people?

This country is so ****ed up.

Of course it doesnt matter, that is why I questioned why it was THIS the media was having a cow over. You would think they would have learned when Nunes said almost the exact same thing (without Rice's name) 2 weeks ago while also saying it doesnt back up anything Trump said or believes about wiretapping.

The media needs to do its job and call this what it is...nothing.

One guy tried on Morning Joe this morning. He explained in great detail how it was nothing. Then Rand Paul (a Senator no less) came on and disputed everything he said. See when Government officials get to lie and there is no agreed upon truth then this is what you get.

And the fact that it's Susan "Video" Rice makes it all the more better for Trump.

It boggles my mind that anyone listens to Rand Paul. The guy is not only a fraud and a sellout...but his opinions are bunk and ****ed near unintelligible. I mean I get why that plays in Kentucky but why the hell do news shows bring him on? It ranks up there with the media claiming John Kasich is a moderate Republican...

It's very difficult to find Republicans who will talk on News shows and be entertaining and interesting. Turtleman was on Fox News and Meet the Press this past Sunday and was asked numerous pointed questions. He answered none. Rand Paul at least answers questions.

And, John Kasich is a moderate Republican. That's how far right the party is right now. There's no where else for the media to go.

Except that Kasich (which autocorrect changes to Masochist ) is a moderate in general terms., just not on women's rights issues.

Unless you want to define moderate as being a true centrist. But I think that being a moderate is different than being a centrist. But that's just how I define the terms. YMMV. :)

Re: POTUS 45.7 - Has the left reached the acceptance stage yet?

Moderate is not a centrist per se, but it is closer to centrist than it is to John Kasich. You dont have the views of women he has and be considered a moderate. We dont grade on curves just because his party has decided they prefer 1890 to 1990 when it comes to laws and rights.

Plus he is anti-union, his tax plans are pure Reaganomics, hates entitlements and wanted a complete repeal of ObamaCare. The only thing that approaches "moderate" is his beliefs on Climate change. Big flipping whoop.

Then there are no moderate Republicans. Yet Republicans control almost the entire Country. So, we're Red. Get used to it.

Get used to what? The fact that there are no moderate Republicans? I have said that for a while.

I just think it's telling how far the needle has moved and yet voting patterns haven't changed a bit. Mark Dayton right now is under water in most of the State and both Houses are under Republican control. Their agenda was in the paper yesterday and it's "staggering" to me what they want to do.

I bet we get a Republican Governor next. Nothing they do wrong affects their ardent supporters nor the middle. Everything the Democrats do is put under a microscope and analyzed to death to the point where people want to puke if they even think of voting for them.

I think Tim Walz will be the next governor, and he would actually be an excellent choice.

"Your act hasn't changed much."

The orcs show everybody every day that they are mentally and morally bankrupt. They're incompetent to govern. Their House majority depends on gerrymandering, their Senate majority depends on voter suppression, and their stooge in the White House depends on (and gets his worldview from) Putin's troll army.

The GOP are at the height of their wave right now, and they can't pass a Sense of the House resolution that Freddy Meyer is a hack.

This too shall pass.

No they don't. They show whoever wants to see. And the 37% that are locked in plus the number that insist on being blind gives them a working majority for the foreseeable future.
