There's literally nothing that disqualifies a person from being president even if they're actively serving a prison sentence.

Unless they impeach and convict, but Drew helped make sure that didn't happen. I guess he hopes Trump can get back in office and undo Biden's work decreasing the deficit.

There was a guest on CNBC this morning talking about the credit rating, deficit, and other financials of the Government. When pushed on what he meant by his interpretation when the numbers showed beneficial to Biden and how Trump was the one who busted the financials, by this guy's own report, the guest retorted with "well in 2019 it *felt* like Donald was reining things in."

I about near drove off the street and straight into a light pole when I heard that.

Those people will say anything as long as it feeds their own narrative of what they already believe.

Because a commutation does not scrub the felony.

No olive branch to any Dump or Dumpy. They are cancer and their true believers are cancerous cells. Chemo and surgery.

Don’t forget radiation. I can tell you from experience that it is class A weaponry.

The right is literally melting down over this. I know they meltdown a lot but I think this may be the thing that pushes them over the edge.

It’s so ironic that the right complains about snowflakes.

First time ever that I agreed with Pence when he roasted dumpy over this. I remember telling my friend in 2016 that dumpy will destroy his party.

That is what you get listening to CNBC. Their guests are usually trash and half their anchors think Jim Cramer is a mad genius.

They're ranting about "election interference," the process, the indictments, the DOJ, the FBI, two-tier justice, the "Biden Crime Family," and more. But with precious few exceptions, you know what they're not proclaiming? That Trump is innocent of the charges. Few if any want to go on the record with that claim.

The right has been "having a meltdown" since Rush started radicalizing them in 1988.

Who cares?

What they say has no content, meaning, or value.

Ignore them. As they threaten, arrest them. As they kill, death by cop them. As they kill en mass, Waco them.

Who cares? They aren't Americans, they're part of the internationalized orc community that drags down every country.

Yes, there is a lot of self flagellation with the guests, but for the most part the Squawk Box crew is the best. Joe Kernan applauding his conservative friends can be annoying, but when Becky or Andrew are let off leash and can whittle away the party statements to get actual insight/thoughts is good.

The trash moments where I contemplate vehicular manslaughter are when they run the clock out on a segment and just let the guest read the liner note quotes without pushback. Its very obvious. (The Chuck Todd Effect).

Also, none of the anchors think Cramer is a genius. The subtle digs at him and his "record" during Squawk on the Street are hilarious.

Oh, it's worse now. Much worse. We had a riot, remember?

And no, the meltdown started in the 1980 Presidential Campaign. It's a progressive disease. It needs to die or it will destroy.

The Dump Man's lawyers have floated two defenses on TV for the charges filed.

1. Free Speech. This is addressed in the indictment. Trump could say that the election was stolen. He can't execute acts to overturn the results of the election because of that belief. This defense will not work.
2. Advice of Counsel. Yes, some idiot lawyers told him all this was ok. But many other lawyers said it wasn't. Trump would have to prove his state of mind at the time of the advice which means he would have to take the stand. We all know if he takes the stand he's toast. This defense will not work.

I don't think he has any other viable defenses but we'll see.

I'm legitimately curious as to Option 2.

Wouldn't that give all the leverage to Rudy/Powell/Eastman to straight up flip after things get going to keep the bus from running them over 23 times? Like if they flip, they only get run over once. Seems like a deal a sane, logical person would take (So Rudy is out).

I do know that Bill Barr has shot down both arguments as BS.

They are. I'm just saying that Option #2 has the potential for even more dirt to be spilled. It would take a solid case and make it better.

It's fascinating how the Right Wing Punditsphere continues to double down on the free speech argument. No one ever said, and nothing in the indictment says that Trump could not actively contest the election by telling everyone who would listen that he got screwed and the election was rigged.

What he can't do is actively try to overturn the election by actively telling other people to break the law for him.
