You don't think people should go to jail if they commit crimes? Only some people should go to jail if they break the law? And which people are those, exactly?

Certain people are too powerful to be prosecuted? Or maybe if they kick up too much of a fuss, maybe cause some problems in the streets, they shouldn't be, just for the common good? Maybe just let them skate, cause it's just easier that way?

It happens all the time. There's stats out there that point to the Asian community moving Republican just like the Hispanics did a few years ago. For some reason if the one party that you vote for doesn't give you everything you want you go to the other party no matter how psychotic, stupid, or insane they are and they give you nothing. But you don't care. All these people want the whole loaf or nothing. Since they'll never get the whole loaf they'll vote for no loaf at all.

Bill Maher has effectively gone this direction.

Rube was the USCHO poster child for this behavior.

I'm sure they point out that they "have" to bring out the riot squads when BLM protesters are around, just because.

And ignore the problem that almost all protests that have had the riot squads brought out were actually peaceful up until that point, whereas the Jan 6 wasn't peaceful pretty much ever.

Somehow, minorities demanding that they get treated the exact same as everyone is a threat to democracy, whereas an actual threat to democracy is just tourists.

Once again, the r's are not capable of not being hypocrites. Which is just another way of saying- incredibly racists.
 
Bringing charges is one thing, securing a conviction prior to November 2024 is another. It is highly unlikely that he will be DQ'd from running; that is a fantasy. If it were to happen, I can only imagine the chaos that would cause. We'd likely see further lawsuits, all sorts of MAGAt and Qtard conspiracies about "globalist WEF acolyte" DeFascist or whoever the R nominee would be, a write-in campaign for Dump, and a dramatic rise in far-right terrorist activity across the country.

I was gonna say. As the GQP gets older and smaller and loses more it will turn more to violence on a greater scale.

We're seeing a failed culture die. It will try to cause as much suffering on the way out as it can.

I'm thinking more like the PIRA in the 70s when they attacked British civvies too, before shifting their focus to military-police and pols. "Ultra MAGA" won't have qualms about targeting large urban crowds, they think everyone who lives in cities is woke, votes straight ticket D, and is evil.

It's the same people, just different countries. Old white supremacists, old mullahs, old Catholics. Authoritarians who can see they have lost their lifelong culture war against kindness and tolerance, who ratchet up the Sky Daddy nonsense and the violence. They are going to die, but they are going to take as many of us and our children with them as they can.

They were bitter losers in life. How much more bitter now reality has sunk in that it was all for nothing, and all their certainties and jeremiads are fairy tales which will be laughed at or simply forgotten.

Best thing is for Dump to get the nomination, lose, and cause more long-lasting harm to the Party.

If Dump gets the nom then every Republican falls in behind him lock step.

The best thing for America and the world is him losing the GQP nomination close, inciting a permanent 50/50 split in the GOP between the Paul Ryan crooks and the MTG Taliban.

I get that, but by "Republican" do you mean to include those who went from blue to red (or stayed home) in '16 and/or from red to blue (or stayed home) in '20? Seems those are the players who will touch the ball in the final minute of the game we now play.

I mean it as the broadest category of those who either swallow Dump's load or pretend to for political advantage. The latter are cynics who will fake unity if Dump wins the nomination. The former are sincere derps, and if Dump loses the primaries he will continually lash out at the nominee, and those derps will be furious with the party for not crowning their Fool King.
