A guy I work with was telling me last week how Trump was in trouble FOR REAL this time. There is a better chance of Selena Gomez jumping in bed with me than Trump going to jail.

This is the point where we must to use the democratic powers of the Presidency and Senate to change the makeup of the Court, as it has been colonized by fascists. The GOP can no longer be permitted the minority rule they built through voter suppression and gerrymandering. We must use democracy to save and then strengthen democracy. Repair the damage to the judiciary done by Dump and the Nazis. We were given this power by the Founders for exactly this case.

Save democracy. End the GQP. End the Right.

Barring a coup your friend is closer to right than you are. The DOJ is not just going to sit idly by they have proven that.

He is banking on the House flipping and Garland refusing to prosecute after a long delay. Much like all his bank dealings this will not work.

If anything I would bet this makes the Red Wave even more dissipated. They better get their civil war or they are going to realize this isn't the Dems of old and they are out for blood as are the voters.

This seems to be the prevailing opinion. The deck is stacked to stall so do what you have been doing and just push forward. (Keep this away from SCOTUS) Friday is the deadline for SM candidates from both sides so go for that.

The DOJ said they finished reviewing the docs so they aren't losing time. Even if somehow they do find he has EP that doesn't change the underlying crime, in fact it proves almost all of DOJs case.

This is the point where they have run out of ways to deny so they admit but with excuses. The problem is no excuse allows for him to have the documents.

The funny thing is, if they say he has EP that means every former president does. That means Obama has the right to classified intel right now. It means any and all secrets in theory could be revealed...

Of course it means Clinton or Obama could declassify stuff. But as the federalist society will argue- trump is special. Somehow, this won’t be applied to everyone

I know there have been posts about this being just a stall- but I think this should be addressed a little- is there even a remote possibility that any president can claim privilege over documents that have specific laws addressing them- like the nuclear documents? Seems that the laws covering those are quite different, and is what is in actual play here. And these are the documents that have no impact on if they were ever declassified- since the laws over the documents pre-dates any laws about classified documents.
 
I think anything is possible when you have unqualified federalist society hacks on a mission
 
I do not understand why Orange Fuckwad was allowed to get a win in Court. Every lawyer on planet Earth I have heard speaking about it thinks the Judge is in the tank. Not a good look for ANY Judge.
 
TFG is having a rally in Youngstown, Ohio during an Ohio State football game on the 17th. Anyone that shows up are probably groupies that follow him around from all fifty states.
 
The decision doesn't change much...but good lord that was one terrible ruling. And even better, the longer this gets stalled the more DOJ is going to leak out info about what was found. Every day we learn more and it looks worse...

And remember they have basically abandoned all defense now. Even if they find he had privilege he under no circumstances was allowed to take those documents to MAL. He has admitted he had them, he has admitted he lied about it (since he didn't send them back in the original batch despite saying he would) and in doing so that means his lawyers and him obstructed justice.

If WAPO is right even SCOTUS can't really protect him now.

Meh, that could mean anything from a career employee to a political hack, depending on the US attorney for the district and what her specific role was.

The couple of AUSAs I've had the pleasure to deal with in my legal career have been hacks.
