What a different country we live in in 2019 than in 1974.

Before everyone here forgets it, there is a reason we have a president from the treasonous cult party, as well as 53 United State Senators and nearly 200 members in the U.S. House of Representatives from that same cult. If you think very many of the people who voted for those people believe for one second it matters how criminal and/or impeachable the trump administration is -- or for that matter even believe it has engaged in any criminal and/or impeachable behavior at all, where have you been for the last few years? While we're all cackling gleefully at the incredible stupidity of trump and his water carriers everywhere, tens of millions of voters think WE'RE the ones who are nuts and are wrong on the facts. They are as convinced of trump's innocence as we are of his guilt.

Facts no longer matter to a vast swath of people in this country, and sadly the collection of people who are populating this thread are far more informed than most people, of that I can assure you all. The democrats may yet get around to impeaching trump, and no president has deserved it more, but trust me, it will end up backfiring on the party. Because in addition to being incredibly stupid, the average American voter is also incredibly fickle. I hope I'm wrong but I fear I'm right.

While Trump's impeachment is rightfully political, and it should be, and he should be tossed, Clinton's (the last to be impeached) was personal.

Now, I don't give a rat's dcik hair whether he had an extra-marital affair. I cared that he lied under oath. THAT part, I care about. Once he lied about it under oath, it became political. If he said, "Yeah, we had relations, it happened, but I stress that no politicial things were talked about, shared, discussed, etc." Ok, you're good. We move on.
