Is there anything that can actually be done if the Executive branch defies the court ruling? It's not like the Judicial branch has an army of police officers waiting for it to force all the president's lackeys and all the president's men to put the country back together again.

Here is the fascinating part. Turtle Boy played the long game for 30+ years? Something like that. And all he really needed was the right President and the right Attorney General.

No. The Executive enforces the law. So, it will go to Congress. And those spineless ****wits will do nothing. The Court is irrelevant at this point.

Perhaps they could involve the US Marshals? But I don't fully understand how that structure works.

You have an obligation to not follow illegal orders. If the Prez says, "print the census with a citizenship question" which is clearly illegal one would think anyone who follows that order has put themselves in legal jeopardy. "I was just following orders" didn't work as a defense for Nazi concentration camp guards either.

EDIT: Also, if you truly believe William Barr has concocted some brilliant legal reasoning to get the citizenship question re-instated over the ruling of the SCOTUS you are either an idiot or you look for potential bad news to play with yourself to, also known as Scooby Syndrome. ;) This is merely a ploy to dupe stupid Chump supporters into thinking they're actually winning something. The only thing more laughable is the media's breathless portrayal of this as something other than total BS.

If you want to get arrested, sure. Have at it! You'd have to be as loyal as one of the soldiers in Hitler's bunker as the Soviets were closing in. The Attorney General in the Nixon administration authorized a lot of things too. He ended up the clink as well...

I must have missed the civics lesson where the AG had more power than the SCOTUS.

Unless they plan to stop the printing right now and then re-print (which will delay the Census) it doesnt matter what Barr or Trump say. The 2020 Census is not going to have the question.

And even if they do delay the Census I am not sure that will help their cause as much as they think it will.

If they delay it it will **** everything up. And that's what will happen. And no one will go to jail even though having a census and the timing of the census is clearly THE LAW.

The people who will go to jail are the ones below Chump and Barr who follow through on the order. Its like if Chump calls some Exec at Deutsche Bank and tells him to wire 100M into Vlady Putin's personal account and don't worry its all legal according to the AG. You're far better off quitting on the spot than sending that wire through, because your azz is going to be the one that gets lugged.
