I'm so very confused as to why Cain or Miller were ever in the running. Cain ran Godfather's Pizza and has a talk show. Miller is so very much against the very institution of the Fed that he won't be good for the nation. And anybody who's not just going along to jerk off Trump knows this.

Believe it or not:

Cain was chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Omaha Branch from 1989 to 1991. He was deputy chairman, from 1992 to 1994, and then chairman until 1996, of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

Businessmen get Fed seats as a reward from the GOP. Not saying he's competent, just that he had experience.

Secretary of the Interior used to be an oil lobbyist. Secretary of Education used to head up an organization that is focused on undermining public education.

Miller's fundamental opposition to the Fed is EXACTLY his primary qualification in Trump's eyes.

In this book Yale professor Jason Stanley warned us not to wait for our institutions to save us -- we must save them. This book has similar advice.

Just reminding you of the general consensus of all the "not a Trump supporter" members of this board.

"What could be the harm of giving him a chance? Our institutions will stop any real harm from being done"

I agree with the sentiment here. Only voters can hold Chump accountable. Nothing he can do will get 20 cult members of the GOP Senate to vote to throw him out of office. If he was caught on tape telling Putin he'd ease Russian sanctions in exchange for approving a Trump corp hotel project and thanking Putin for his help in the election, you would be LUCKY to find 5 Republicans in the House or the Senate who would vote to convict and it would mostly be people up for re-election in tough races.

So, effectively, "the swamp" (entrenched bureaucracy) that Trump claims to want to "drain" is getting even more bold and powerful under Trump.

In other words the subject matter experts who actually know sh-t. The technicians who makes things run and fix them when the pols break them. The brains of the machine.

If given the choice of a government of politicals without careerists or careerists without politicals I know which one I'm choosing.
