He'll do it because it's the right thing to do. Most avoidance of conflict of interest is avoidance of the appearance of impropriety, to maintain faith in institutions.
A good person avoids doing things that even appear to be bad, even if they are not and they have no ill intent, for the social benefit. Dump would call that being "a sucker."
A bad person goes ahead and does bad things, with ill intent, then smears any good person who calls them on it, for their personal benefit. Dump would call that being "smart."

Hopefully, starting next year, the Dems will make it clear as day what's happening. They will need to say this loud and clear for the people in the back. It's going to be a dirty, mud slinging campaign, but it needs to be front/center.
