We used to have the following understanding: if a president violates democratic norms his own party and followers will abandon him for the greater good of the nation. That's what prevented this for 240 years. But now the Republican party and their voters don't care about democracy or law or anything other than the hateful obsessions they dredge out of their own anuses. So now it can be done with impunity.

The next wave of Constitutional amendments have to bind the president formally. We can no longer depend upon the values and honesty of the American right to keep a democracy. The morons and the creeps now own an entire political party.
