I'm sure most of these guys would prefer that trump have stroke and just fade away to one of his hotels in Florida, but they will defend til they die the party that has already built its own financial and cultural walls to keep out the unwealthy.

One of the interesting things is how trump, his base, and his supporters on the hill are willing to double down on stupid. Gives all this a real rabbit hole effect. It seems different from the customary political hyperbole we are all used to. This is just a blind hunch, but maybe it is partly due to the way we access and consume information online. Anybody can put information and opinion out there, and a lot of it is half-baked, false, or a hollow attempt to sell something, including the mere act of clicking on it. The confirmation biases we all have are even more deadly when it is so easy to question the veracity of the other view.

The confirmation bias is worse when you are in denial of achievements. Or lack thereof. The fact that not one mile of new wall has been built, and the president is now coming out with "finish the wall" is stunning. How can you think it's almost done when it's not even started? And that the money that is claimed to be moved to make something is 1) under challenge, and 2) the money already given hasn't been used. When you see his supporters (who are representatives) be challenged where the new wall is, and all they do is "I've seen video of construction" without any sign of actual new wall- what's up with that?
If this were Obama and the ACA, the people who actually wanted it would be pretty darned mad if it was claimed to be almost done and nothing had even been done. At least the ACA got fried for trying and not getting it rolled out correctly. This guy is getting no flack for doing absolutely nothing, and claiming victory.
