POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

I had to do some digging, and in the two minute CNN sound bite, Schumer mentioned Trump "sorta... slamming the table..." near the very end of the clip. Even in the CBS thirty second clip, it's a glib line at the end.

Definitely an odd thing to be hung up on
.
Any other year or any other President- yup. This one? He gets his knickers in a twist about anything real or imagined. The funny thing is whether he slammed the table or missed trying he still sounds like a spoiled child.

I think if the Russia investigation wasn’t going on we wouldn’t have the shutdown. It’s time to wrap that up and move on with things. After two years and a hundred million dollars there is no evidence of wrongdoing on Trump’s part.

Tell me this is parody.
When I first started playing in these threads I thought he was being sarcastic because some of the stuff he posts would be great ironic, sarcastic humor. Alas, he is either a Russian bott or a real person who has difficulty with facts and critical thinking

Do we really need the President commenting on something like that?

He also compared the Wall to a wheel. It hurt my brain to read.

The balls that man has to just stand there and contradict his own comments over and over and over again.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Usually when Trump has been backed into a corner like he has with this wall nonsense he just declares bankruptcy! With that not being an option here I'm really not sure how it ends. If he backs down on it even his dumbfuk supporters are going to know he caved. Best thing for him to do is to let Congress override his veto of the budget. That way he can hang them out to dry while claiming to have fought the good fight...

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Unfortunately, McConnell is holding strong and won't allow any votes to happen that wouldn't be rubber stamped by Trump.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Yaassssssss

“Breaking News: Michael Cohen agreed to testify publicly before Congress next month to give "a full and credible account" of his work on behalf of Donald J. Trump.”

Agreed. McConnell doesn't have the balls to defy Chump so it would have to be a plan Trump agreed to. As in he's all bluster in public but in private he tells Itch to go ahead and find the votes to get the government open. Of course then Trump will stab McConnell in the back and start railing against the GOP! Everybody wins! ;)

We don't need him commenting (or commenting uselessly and showing ignorance) in 99.9% of the occasions he comments or tweets

The balls that man has to just stand there and contradict his own comments over and over and over again.
George Orwell's classic book “1984,” about a dystopian future where critical thought is suppressed under a totalitarian regime, has seen a surge in sales this month, rising to the top of the Amazon best-seller list in the United States and leading its publisher to have tens of thousands of new copies printed.Jan 25, 2017 And sales have continued to be high for a reason.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Do conservatives really want to open up this avenue of bypassing Congress via "national emergency"?

Climate change
Healthcare
Voter rights

All things more credible as "national emergencies" than this silly wall.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

That is why the Dems should let him do it. It sets the precedent...

It's a really bad precedent. Though it would be just what R deserved for Kamala Harris to declare a health emergency and enact Single Payer, UBI, free tuition, and free daycare by fiat.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

I'd call his bluff and let him go ahead and declare it. By the time its done working its way through the courts Chump will be long gone. In the meantime go ahead and re-open the government. This seems like a similar ploy as Chump claiming he could change the Constitution with a wave of his hand regarding birthright citizenship. Even he knows this isn't going to work, but like any carnival barker and cost artist he has to keep upping the drama in order to get people to look his way.

He'll declare, a judge probably in the Ninth will declare it unConstitutional, appeals process starts, both sides declare victory, next made up issue appears as the new gridlock-causing headline du jour.

Re: POTUS 45:46: New Year, Same 'Ol Crap.

Federal workers are going to get their retroactive pay.

880k furloughed workers at an average salary of let's say $80k per year. That's $219 per day per worker, i.e. $193M of lost labor per day. In 26 days that reaches $5B. So one week from now Dump will have wasted more money on the shutdown just in terms of payroll than he was asking for in the first place.

Now that's negotiation!
