This guy was an alleged criminal years before this happened (I know he had brushes before, including a previous bomb threat) but somehow got off on technicalities. This guy is a nutjob, and on top of that, sloppy with his plans. As much as we hate all the pure Trumpers, I have a hard time believing that the average Trumper would send bombs out like this guy did. In other words, they may shout all the crap they want, but they'll do nothing more than that.

I'd clock it at about 5% of his 40% of the United States. That's a lot of people.

Well, we have one person so far, in 2 years (3 if you count his campaigning before he was elected). A bit less than 5% so far.

Note: I'm not defending any of these people's views. I'm defending the notion that any of the Trumpers (even 5%) on a normal day, would do something like this. It's a rarity.

Isn't a gigantic portion of our prisons filled with minor drug infractions and the like? That's the narrative I've been hearing. ;)

I've already seen a few liberal friends that I know personally say, "Typical Trumper."

However, if a Muslim bombing happens, and someone says, "Typical Muslim," they get ridiculed.

I am sincerely impressed you said "5%," truth. I expected a higher number from you. :)

You are not wrong. I think the rub is that so many on the right do condemn all or most Muslims after an incident and they are now saying don’t judge all trumpers.
You’re also right about our prison pop.

Cesar Sayoc isn't just some loner gone wrong. He isn't merely a one-in-a-million Unabomber with a cabin in the woods, a crazed manifesto, and too much black powder. Cesar Sayoc is the future. Donald Trump's famously loyal base has been radicalized, and while only the tiniest fraction will resort to political violence, neither the president nor the hollow shell of the GOP will do anything to stop it.

If he were a guy with a clean, or almost clean, record, say some regular Joe with a lot of guns and ideas and Trumper views, and this happened...ok, let's take a look.

This guy has had many brushes with the law. To me, he just got another excuse to blame anyone but himself on his actions.

False equivalence. The true hypocrisy is what's happening in the campaign with Health Care. That actually effects peoples lives.

Yes. Theft of greater than $500, and drug charge of crack cocaine. The drug charge was dropped, because IIRC they never tested the evidence (idiotic error on LEOs end).

He would get meds, refill them with non-meds, and get a refund, for the theft thing.

Edit: also, previously made a bomb threat, but was ruled to not have the capability of carrying the threat through.
