Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

The seeds were sewn for Trump back in '08.

http://www.startribune.com/mccain-s-lakeville-moment-became-his-defining-legacy/491850921/

Lakeville MN. McCain Town Hall.

“I gotta ask you a question,” she said, as McCain leaned in, nodding encouragingly. “I can’t trust Obama. I have read about him and he’s not — He’s not — He’s an Arab. And — ”

But the senator was shaking his head now, reaching out to take the microphone back.

“No?” she trailed off, as she handed the microphone over.

“No, ma’am,” McCain said firmly.

Quinnell, now 85, has spent the past few days hanging up on reporters from the Washington Post and the Star Tribune.

“I don’t want to talk about that,” she said Monday before slamming the phone down.

Ten years ago in Lakeville, she wasn’t persuaded either.

“You can’t trust Barack Hussein Obama,” she told reporters after the rally, “because he is a Muslim and a terrorist.”

One man, who said his wife was pregnant, told McCain he was “scared to raise his child in a country with a President Obama.”

“I want to be president of the United States and I don’t want Senator Obama to be,” McCain said. “But I have to tell you, he is a decent person, and a person you do not have to be scared [to have] as president of the United States.”

The crowd booed.

Nice Country. And that was 10 years ago.

And McCain got a ton of credit for saying he's "not an Arab" lmao. Which basically sums up his political career, having zero courage to do anything right but then still gets fawned over by the media.

Who knew global commerce was so hard?

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

Another potential small government GOP move. Lol

“White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Tuesday said that the administration is “taking a look” at potentially regulating Google, following President Trump’s tweets criticizing the search giant.”

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

Googling his name is now RIGGED against him with all the fake news and should be illegal.

There's today's pointless idiocy while his cabinet guts regulations somewhere else
He is more paranoid than Alex Jones...

The first Democrat that replaces him is going to have to spend every weekend the first 6 months fixing them all instead of golfing like the Orange Cheeto
Which is precisely why he needs to golf more. It will be easier for his successor to fix.

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

The guy was a war hero and long time Senator back when he was running for President and you guys pizzed on him all the time.

Now you really have me curious what would have happened if the minute McCain had died Trump started lavishing praise on him, started planning for an elaborate celebration of his career, etc... You guys would probably be all like, "Oh, he was ok, but he was a flawed man." Trump has been the best thing that McCain could have wished for in terms of his legacy.

Nothing would have happened. We would have said he was lying but that is not much of anything.

I literally said I dont like McCain and think he was lucky not to be in jail. I think he sold out in '08 to try and get his spot and it backfired on him and us spectacularly. I am not pretending he is a great man, I am saying he deserved to have the flags at half mast at 1600 Pennsylvania. People worse than him got honored as such over the years. Trump is just too petty to do that.

I am not tarring and feathering Trump over it, just think it is kind of pathetic and sad. You know what else is sad, that McCain thought more of the man who spread false rumors about his adopted daughter to win the nomination in '00 (Dubya) and the man who slaughtered him '08 than he did the man who is the current Commander in Chief.

By your definition we also pizzed on Obama all the time. No one said anything close to "I like people who don't get captured." Toughen up buttercup.

If you're going to join conversations, you really need to read the whole thing and not just a single post.

I did, you're still angry that people feel the need to criticize the moron in the oval office out loud instead of just keeping it to ourselves and not burdening you with it. That's what it boils down to.

An editorial from CNN:
https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/28/politics/donald-trump-google-conspiracy-theory/index.html
What Bolyard is suggesting is that because we don't know the algorithm that Google uses to populate its "News" tab, it's possible that they could be purposely editing out conservative sites. Because we can't rule it out, then no one can say what she's suggesting isn't true.

So, just to make sure I got this straight... because the GOP doesn't know the secret sauce formula that generates search results (on a very vague search topic), they want to crack open Google and make them "fix" their algorithms?

And yet, Diebold Voting Machines with their proprietary programming being kept secret to everyone is totally cool?

Re: POTUS 45.40: If You Need a Lawyer, Don't Hire Michael Cohen

Yes, they are suggesting we perhaps regulate search engine algorithms because they don’t like the search results. Can’t make it up

Wasn't Red Don just last week criticizing youtube and twitter and whoever for "regulating" what they put on their sites, and saying it should all be open, put everything out there, and let the people decide what they wanted to read and believe and not?

And now he wants the government regulating what shows up on Google because the top results that show up about him are all bad?

I guess none of our "relax, wait and see folks" here won't get bothered by this until it actually starts happening. And probably then, they'll move the goalpost further.

No, it really doesn't, and if you had read the conversation you'd understand it.

Handy posed a question to the more conservative posters as to why, using his words, this is "not a big deal." I responded, because like the Obama "bowing" incident and probably a hundred other stupid, petty little events that people have tried to make political hay over these past years, it is so insignificant that I can't believe anyone even cares let alone gets worked up over.

This is different than the Obama bowing incident. This is the president telling us that standing during the national anthem is so important that you should be fired for not doing it, but at the same time it's ok to not honor a war vet, tortured POW, who went on to be a Senator, and then POTUS nominee.

So it's not about *****ing about the moron in the White House, it's showing what kind of hypocrite he is. He's happier that a political rival in his own party is dead than wants to honor a person. Look at his 100% silence over being asked directly about it yesterday.

How does that not say something about his (lack of) character?
