POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

At least Bloom County has been fun this past month. Well, since it's return, really, but the FAKE Westminster Dog Show was great. :)

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

These two guys ended by agreeing on the importance of the First Amendment. Then again, they both make a living by using it to PO people. And that's just fine.

Stealing someone's personal photos and posting them on the internet and making explicit threats of rape and murder because you're mad that person tried to shut down your website for pedophiles or dared to be in a PG-13 action movie has absolutely nothing to do with the First Amendment, but you go on being the dumbest, most ignorant piece of **** here.

Maher could've easily gone after Milo for that. Why didn't he.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

The continued ad hominen attacks around this place are repugnant. Yet, they humor me. Why? Because, as Maher recently said on his show, "liberals always take the bait." Maher's correct.

Moreover, the mere presence of an different point of view triggers the attack. The attacks say far more about attacker than the attacked.

And, with that thought in mind, someone recently mused, bemused, that the number of posters in threads like this is way down.

Well, allow me to hypothesize on that: Most folks vote with their feet. Seeing the treatment, the name-calling, being dished out by one side, they've walked out. And when they walk out of one place, where do they have to walk into?

And the preceding statement has nothing to do with just USCHO; however, it may well explain a portion, dare I say the winning margin, of November 8, 2016.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

Because he didnt bring him there to attack him. He treated him like he treated Ann Coulter and the rest of the loonbats he has on...

That was why he would tell him to shut up or looked to get kinda mad...he is offering Milo a place to get his opinion out without the need to ramp up the rhetoric or deal with protests since Maher got banned from Berkeley just like Milo did. (without the protests) Milo couldnt just get his message out though he had to attack everyone (except Bill who he kissed up too) and play both the victim and the attacker.

Milo is not the guy you want as the face of your movement...because to him it isnt a movement it is a way to troll and attack the ones he hates. The fact that he is an immigrant Gay man who is in love with a Black Man who works for Breitbart News shows he doesnt give a crap about anything but furthering his own career any way possible. He isnt doing to legitimize Breitbart or shift them from hate to a more tolerant stance, he is doing it because he is a hate filled troll. That is his right...but he is not some First Amendment hero he is Rush Limbaugh with less Vicadin and more jewelry.

No people attack you because you act clever and pretend to be above it all but your posts all say otherwise. You play the Faux News game, pretending to be balanced but being nowhere near it. Your attempts are disingenuous and not even clever. At least try and be funny or something...have a schtick like Milo does ;)

You can admit that that you enjoy owning that much space in his head. Trump's president now. It's OK to be a land baron even if your holdings are little more than wasteland. :D

I am the balance in this thread*.

I've hacked Trump**. And I haven't launched the 76 trombone Trump parade, but I am perceived as completely pro-Trump. No, I'm willing to look at both sides.

Frankly, that's as much balance as can be found around here.

The core problem?

“It’s a characteristic of the modern left, requiring this absolute consistency. But they’re forgetting that people are messy and complicated,” Milo said.

Again, some wonder where a bunch have posters disappeared to. They voted with their feet.

*Post-edit: When I read that it sounds way too much like Stallone in "Judge Dredd". Apologies. Nobody should sound like Stallone.

**Did you notice the news over the weekend about CA congressman that is firing up hearings about Trumps Samsung Galaxy S3 (with the less secure version of Android)? I'm happy about that; unsecured devices and emails should get them raked over the coals at best. And I'm not a Betsy DeVos fan: how do you be EdSec if you or your kids have never attended public schools?

Wait, wait. I, a person who owned and used the same dumb flip phone for four and a half years who finally upgraded to a Galaxy S7 Edge in December, have a newer and more secure personal cellular mobility device than the President of the United States and a top Fortune 400 Wealthiest American?

No, you're willing to equate a paper cut with an amputation because both are painful and cause a loss of blood.

You may be willing to look at both sides, but you do so without any sense of perspective or scale.

Milo's shtick is the same as Coulter's, they're both professional trolls performing an act. What I don't get is why anyone gives them an audience. The best way to fight them isn't to protest, it's to ignore. As to Maher, I stopped watching him long ago when his show was still on ABC. Unlike Coulter, I think he genuinely believes the b.s. coming out of his mouth, but that doesn't make it any less b.s.

Here we agree. Milo is a complete clown-show. (Like I said, I cringed when I clicked the link to watch Milo and Maher.) Watching him proved it. Yet, Maher gave him a forum, and took a lot of heat for it. Yet, Maher went with it. If he did it for the ratings, bad on him; if he did it because he believes in free speech, good on him.

You can believe in free speech and still not give a microphone to a neo-Nazi or every other attention whore looking to make the next click bait statement.

Free speech says everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It doesn't mean everyone is entitled to an audience.

Eight years ago, I was hearing the people claim the socialist tyrant in the White House gun confiscation, death panels, Wal-Mart interment camps  . Then there was Mr. Obama's silencing of leakers (no drama) that even the NYT went after. I was told all that would be a sucking chest wound to America.

Now, I'm hearing the same dire claims of the tyrant in the White House taking rights and silencing the opposition voices. The courts stopped one; the voices are still out there. (I'll save you all the trouble: "For now!")

My perspective is that of time and having believed all the BS of the past. The retort here will be "it'll be too late when the damage is done!" And I trust America to not allow the damage.

Frankly, the most dangerous President of recent memory to me is GW Bush. He ran up the debt and set the foundations for unabashed surveillance by signing the "Patriot" Act. I'm disappointed that neither guy after him did much or has done much to start rolling either of those back.
