Correct.

Pretty sure he isnt supposed to be doing that...

Probably no law against it. Impeachment is political and it should be impeachable but not with the Republican ********s we have in charge.

Re: POTUS 45.30: "Stormy Weather...It Keeps on Rainin' all the Time..."

Trump has no clue who he's screwing with. Bezos didn't become an actual billionaire by taking out junk loans and screwing contractors, or sitting in front of a TV camera pretending to fire people.

He did it the old-fashioned way - creating a sociopathic working environment, fcking over employees, and using volume to either put small-timers out of business, or make them work for him. :p

I'm pretty certain there are numerous laws preventing elected and other government officials from using the power of the government to attack opponents and private businesses.

Yeah, there's also an emoluments issue with him and it's in the Courts. But no one is really going after him hard. He's been skating through all this **** like a newborn kitten. We allowed the Presidency to get too powerful. Going to take decades to correct it, IF it's ever corrected.

Re: POTUS 45.30: "Stormy Weather...It Keeps on Rainin' all the Time..."

Any sane person can see the Trump is incompetent and will cause harm to his country. But other than the threat of war (and yes, that is the top priority concern), what reasons would Dems have for replacing Trump with Pence, even if we could? In a way, his incompetence is paying dividends to Dems.

Possible factors, in no particular order:

* WAR, of course, but excluding that
* environmental harm
* education backsliding
* federal judge and justice appointments
* domestic economic harm
* social injustices based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex and gender choice, etc
* diminished standing and trust globally
* harm to the Office of the President

This question is for dems, so I won't include a divided and paralyzed government, since that might be a good thing with a clown like Trump in the WH and the knucks in the House.

A cynical and not untrue way to look at it. He is disrupting, destroying many businesses and controlling people's livelihoods.

But that's the way the marketplace works, and the broader economy is not negatively affected and in fact has made us much more competitive globally. Who wins beyond Bezos? Any American who buys products.

Yes, Pence being President. That's another lesson the Susan Sarandon Morons need to feel, touch, learn. Idiots.

I've been racing to create a level 2 brokerage account so I can short the market. Its taken waay too long.

Re: POTUS 45.30: "Stormy Weather...It Keeps on Rainin' all the Time..."

So if the question is why would you impeach Trump, the immediate answer is because he's most likely committed treason and obstruction of justice and he and his co-conspirators in his family, cabinet, campaign, and Congress need to be held to account.

For political reasons, not only would you once again kick the living $h!t out of the GOP in the next election ala Watergate, but ancient knuckledragger Mike Pence doesn't have anywhere near the devotion that Chump has amongst wingnut voters. Trump is a phenomenon. Pence is Paul Ryan only 30 years older.

The question was not so much "why" as "is it the smartest choice." A "be careful what you wish for" kind of question.

I feel like I'd love to see him impeached because I think he is utterly incompetent and dangerous. I just think I should at least question that feeling, given who is next in line--someone who is not incompetent and who may be more dangerous.

You take that any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Pence is a terrible candidate and is unelectable on his own.

Yet, people voted for Trump in spite of that. And some voted for Trump because of it. And those numbers far exceeded the numbers attached to Clinton's running mate.

I admit I hadn't thought of reelection. Maybe tDonald has taught me to think only in the Now. It just seems to me that Trump's incompetence has benefited dems in slowing down GOP legislation and in other elections.

Also...both Trump and Pence would put themselves and their party well in front of both the integrity of government institutions and the overall will of the American people.

But Trump is a total risk taker on this front...Pence would be much more reserved. That makes Trump far more dangerous.
