I was referring to his post.

But if you compare the two who ran, yes he was more positive. Not completely but more so out of the two. That was his whole slogan. What did Hillary push that was so glowing?

It was all there. No one listened. Her biggest problem was no one listened to her because they had already made up their minds. She had a very good message, and some great policy ideas. All for naught.

I'm sorry, "Make America Great Again" is running on how great things are going at the moment? The other side ran on America is already great and look how much better things are now than 8 years ago.

All I'm saying is let's govern nationally from the Democratic wing of the party. Let's not govern with economic policies that are right of Nixon.

Run every Manchin we can where we need them: pick up every red seat we can. Run "tough on crime" campaigns in the yahoo suburbs. Run gun humping campaigns in the country. Steal the GOP's wind wherever we can.

Then swear in the Members on whatever iron age fairy tale their constituents want, and go to work governing as far to the left as we can think of. Fix the country. The GOP and Fox are going to holler SOCIALISM!!!111! at us no matter what we do, and the dumpies are going to believe that, so give them the full measure. Put those f-cks on the defensive and run them back to 1959.

Why would he run on how great things are at the moment? That doesn't make sense at all. It was a message of hope for the future of where he wanted to go. Obama did pretty much the same thing with hope and change, didn't he?

Well hey we can either listen to the kids in FL who want gun control, the occupiers who want a living wage/not to get bent over by financial institutions, marijuana reformists on both sides who want it legal, the vast majority of the country that wants single payer...

or we can just not do any of that and hope that saying "DUMP IS RACIST" works THIS TIME.

The Great Reversal came with Carter. Prior to that we governed as a traditional center-left party. The combination of the oil shock, Carter's political ineptitude, and the rise of the Reagan Cult weakened the Democratic party enough that the corporatists captured it. Since then we have never run a robust leftist economic message and in consequence we've turned off a third of the country. We now run by slicing and dicing the center and the paleolibertarians (social left / economic right) with the GOP, while a third of the country goes entirely unrepresented.

In a perfect world Rover would be a Republican. You would still be unhappy.
