Re: POTUS 45: 28 - Yo Memo So Stupid, Donald Renamed it "Eric"

Is it only those who didn't applaud the SOTU in person that committed treason, or does it also apply to people watching/listening at home?

I dunno but someone said it so it has to be true. I wonder if that was the same someone who told Trump he was the first Republican to win by that big of a margin over Clinton ;)

Re: POTUS 45: 28 - Yo Memo So Stupid, Donald Renamed it "Eric"

I'd really like to hear what Schiff's issues with that milquetoast memo were.
To those following along, there was nothing new in there other than specific dates < yawn >.

Well, here's one of them.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/02/05/fbi-footnote-carter-page-warrant-390795?lo=ap_a1

Republican leaders are acknowledging that the FBI disclosed the political origins of a private dossier the bureau cited in an application to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, undermining a controversial GOP memo released Friday and fueling Democratic demands to declassify more information about the bureau’s actions.

Democrats pounced on public comments over the past day by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and intelligence committee member Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), arguing that the GOP memo's failure to mention a key footnote in the FBI application shows how the party has cherry-picked classified facts to protect President Donald Trump.

I mean, that's the whole premise of the GOP memo, that the underhanded, anti-Trump, criminal, politically biased FBI used this political, biased source, as their only justification for going after an eavesdropping warrant. And there it is, right in the application, that the FBI acknowledge their source may be politically motivated.

It'll be twisted either way. Bush and his policies almost destroyed the global economy, and the republicans in Congress fought and worked against anything Obama attempted to do to try to mitigate the damage and get the economy back up and running. Couldn't spend money, cause.................recession and debt, couldn't do stimulus, couldn't do infrastructure, couldn't do anything. it's a wonder he was able to get the few things he was able to to help spur economic growth.

And now, with the economy clicking on all cylinders, do we raise taxes, and pay off debt, get our books in order? No, time to borrow even more money,. and cut taxes for billionaires on top of that.

And now that we have some economic news, that wages are finally rising, the Fed says, we'll have none of that, cause that causes inflation, and we can't have that, so now they're talking rate hikes to slow the economy, and as a result, the markets are tanking. The Fed will never allow wages to grow to any reasonable degree, cause they won't allow inflation to grow at more than 2%. Trumpy's 5% growth will never happen, cause the Fed won't allow it. Inflationary.

To be fair, we can't hold interest rates at 0% forever. That's not healthy. I also don't think the fed is trying to stymie wage growth to prevent inflation.

No we haven't. Those surpluses were our Social Security Trust Fund. Stop spewing Paul Ryan talking points.

Is that one of his talking points? I don’t pay much attention to him. We need to do better and I don’t care how we get there or who is responsible.

Re: POTUS 45: 28 - Yo Memo So Stupid, Donald Renamed it "Eric"

We’ve had surpluses since 1980, haven’t since 9/11.

Are you freakin' serious? Are you really this friggin' uninformed?

The budget hasn't run a surplus since I don't know when. I think Clinton may have had a couple years late in his term, but that was only on paper, not in actuality. They would have become real, except, you know, Bush tax cuts. Which were before 9/11, BTW. Clinton set us on a path toward paying off the federal debt, and guess what, your beloved Republicans stopped it, and stopped it quick. All for tax cuts for millionaires.

Ok, even if you accept that Clinton's surpluses were real, they were the only ones we've had since 1969.

They may not have that as their goal, but that's the result of their policies. At the slightest sign of a heatening up of the economy, and the increased wages that would bring, the Fed jumps in to put the brakes on. And that keeps wages stagnant as a result. The Fed sees their primary purpose as keeping inflation as low as possible, and anything else, such as job or wage growth, which are also part of their charter, as secondary to that.

Yes, you do.

Uh. I don’t think the fed is trying to hold back the economy either. The fed’s purpose isn’t to keep inflation low, it’s to stabilize the dollar. Unchecked inflation is bad; double bad in an economy that’s doing poorly.

Wage growth is pretty much meaningless when you see the wage gap increasing and inflation is low. That’s not monetary policy, that’s domestic policy.

In fairness, the fed's tools are great at controlling inflation and not creating jobs. To create jobs, you need fiscal stimulus from the gov't.

Adam Schiff's response to Trump's tweet:

Mr. President, I see you’ve had a busy morning of “Executive Time.” Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would appreciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or...really anything else. https://t.co/lVqQRu2Gjl
— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) February 5, 2018

Also the Intelligence Committee voted (unanimously I believe) to release the Schiff Memo...

Is Drew a real person, or did one of the left-leaning posters make up an account to post arguments that are mindlessly easily refuted?

LOL.

And for the record, I don't think the dossier's political motivation should matter if the contents are corroborated. I mean, the fact the Washington Free Beacon paid for it doesn't matter if stuff is in fact true.

As fake as they come. The deficit is great and everything is hunky dory. I’m thrilled the baby boomers have saddled my generation with tons of debt.

The 70's left a mark.
