I think the Dump analogy is if he testifies under oath. It could indicate that he thinks he has done nothing wrong but it's more likely that he's so dumb he thinks he can fake out Mueller. Even if he pulls his usual poutrage and demands the questions in advance (which is the only way he could ever have gotten through grade school), the idea that his entire team working together can fool Johnny Law is also ludicrous.

The Dump administration -- in fact the entire Republican Party -- is a Dunning-Kruger exhibition. Assuming we are not all consumed by a fireball, he and his voters will be studied for centuries as the final sewage line American conservatism has been flushing itself towards since the 1960s.

McCabe will remain on the FBI payroll until he is eligible to retire with full benefits in mid-March, the sources said.

One source said McCabe was exercising his retirement eligibility and characterized his decision as "stepping aside."

That fully aligns with my recollections that McCabe was speculated to out to retirement in early 2018 (as he was hitting full benefits). Here is NPR reporting as much back in December.

From the previously linked NPR story:

McCabe's "PLANS" (quoting NPR, and WaPo, and NYT) were reported in December.

It's both, you Trump apologist. He was gonna stay on the job, in his position, until he retired in March.

Now, he's still retiring in March, but no longer holds his position. He's gonna keep cashing a paycheck until retirement time. Probably gonna be sitting at home while he's doing it.

I see a man who knew back in December he could retire in January doing it, and getting out of the scheisse-fest that is DC today.

Uh, not according to the December NPR, WaPo, and NYT reports.

From the NPR report (that you must've not completely finished yet):

NPR's Carrie Johnson tweeted Saturday, she has also been told by people with knowledge of the matter that McCabe is likely to take vacation time that he has accrued after nearly 20 years as an FBI agent, which would effectively have him out of the building before his official final day at the FBI sometime in March.

You do understand the concept of "cover story" don't you?

Sessions and Flynn never spoke with any Russians either. Until they did. And then it was no big deal, they were perfectly justified in talking to Russians. It's not like they were colluding or anything.

Cover story ... first reported by NPR (and WaPo and NYT) in December 2017.


I can't blame McCabe for burning vacation to play it out to full government pension (and health care) retirement*. I'd want out of that merde-melee too.


*Surprised Scoob hasn't complained about that aspect.
