Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Are people really arguing about by which reason Trump sucks the most? Can't we all just agree that he sucks in a multitude of ways and for multiple reasons with regards to each way?

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

If the executive order was to execute all Canadians upon crossing into the US, should the justice department enforce it?

I mean, it sounds great, but it is likely not lawful.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Christing hell, I just read the White House's statement on Yates. Just say "Acting Attorney General Yates has been relieved of her duties" and move on. But nooooooo...

My God, was that really the formal White House statement? It wasn't a late night tweet?

Just fit Trump with virtual reality glasses, tell him he's president for the next four years, and bring back Dubya to do it.

Or even Cheney.

I mean, come on.

My coworkers still love him.

Oh yeah? Well your face is dumb.

Well I more met Dillo and his need to have Raspberry Frappacino Cosmopolitan Beer with a lime :D

Should we take bets who Trump fires next...the guy is off his rocker!

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

The answer in such a case is for the AG to resign and go full-frontal. You just can't have an AG refusing to enforce legally-passed laws/orders simply based on personal opinions. That would be anarchy.

This is not correct. Pulling an Archie is making them fire you. You have each person refuse the order, get fired, and the next man up refuses. You don't make it any easier on them. At least make them spend a bullet.

You need to understand that Trump isn't just being a blowhard, he's actually destroying our democracy, and half the country is fine with it because they're either (1) cynically getting something out of it or (2) fat, drunk, and stupid.

Oh, he sucks. That doesn't mean that every last little thing he does is worthy of a five-alarm freakout.

And dx: that's not really a good parallel, since this EO doesn't mention murder. A better hypothetical case would be Eric Holder refusing to uphold DACA because he felt it unwise.

Granted, I would REALLY rather laws were changed by legislation than executive order, but apparently that's not what we're gonna do.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

No, it's a perfect example. If the attorney general feels a law is unlawful or is unenforceable, he or she should do exactly what Yates did

Answer the question.

So Dillo wants eclectic crafts, and I thought dx liked Sam Adams and Miller Lite?

So what constitutes "good taste in beer" for you, then? :p

"One of these things, is not like the others..."

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Fine, don't like murder?

Should the attorney general and justice department round up the <strike>Japanese</strike> Muslims and send them to internment camps if the president issues an executive order?
