Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

IBD was the same site that said Stephen Hawking would be dead if he were British and subject to their National Health System.

Needless to say, I take everything they say with a huge helping of salt.

IBD is biz news for idiots. I can't remember if it's connected with the Washington Times (the Moonies) or not, but it's a joke.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

There's no coup without the military, and the military despises Trump.

According to this column, he only needs 20% of them to take over. I think he has that. Well, Trump does, not sure about President Bannon.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Your evidence?

Without knowing Kepler's reasons, I'll just reply with this: Since when does the military like a president who keeps suggesting their programs consist of a lot of bloat? The officers aren't stupid, they can see that this line of thought will lead to overall budget cuts for them.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Are you contending that most of the people who this happens to have the money but don't pay because they forget or some other reason? I'm sure there are cases where this happens but would think it's a small minority. It would be interesting to see some data around this(not trying to say you're wrong but it wouldn't be what I would suspect.)

this is my last post beating this dead horse, but for the millionth time it has nothing to do with being broke. Or even forgetting to pay a bill occasionally. It has to do with being deemed mentally incapable of managing your finances. Those are very different things.

I've seen millionaires unable to manage their finances because of dementia. Would you want your 90 year old mother with alzheimers conned out of all her money? Or a severely schizophrenic disabled sibling managing their checkbook (when they are unable to differentiate reality from delusion)? This is the kind of scenario covered by being deemed mentally unable to manage finances. It has nothing to do with how much money you have.

Does anyone else find it strange markets have held up so well in the last week? They're down a bit today but not anything beyond the normal volatility.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

No one cared about this either during the campaign.

I wonder if people are getting an education now. I have my doubts.

the deplorables love what is happening. I have a friend that argues with people posting on some local news station's Facebook posts, and a lot of those show up on my feed. Any news story about what Trump is doing has at least 50% of the posts supporting him and calling anyone that disagrees a libt@rd.

I think they baked in the Ridiculousness already.

Your evidence?

Respect for the career military.

The grunts run the gamut: a lot of them adore Trump the way they loved their pappy when he beat them. But you need the middle brass to run a coup, from DC to Dahomey, and the middle brass respect process. Trump is the very enemy of process.

If anything the military is more likely to join a popular revolt to take him out if they perceive him as becoming a clear and present danger to our national defense.

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

Funny. I've heard today on here and various other places that Obama did the same thing. Well, no he did not.

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s temporary ban on entry visas for people from seven predominantly Muslim countries has opened fissures across his administration, with bureaucrats struggling to enforce a law they had no warning of, military officers cautioning that it will hurt their partners in conflict zones like Iraq, and diplomats lodging a protest against the message it is sending the world.

Inside the State Department, officials are circulating a so-called dissent cable, which warns that closing the nation’s doors to more than 200 million people to weed out a handful of would-be terrorists will not make the nation safer and might instead deepen the threat.

The memorandum began to take shape late last week, as word of Mr. Trump’s executive order leaked out. The sponsors quickly gathered over 100 signatures, an unusually large number, but a draft of the memo was still being refined over the weekend.

Dissent memos are an established way for diplomats to register objections to American policy.

If he had we would have the same outrage.

But they are quoting the Washington Examiner...which we all know has the highest, most sterling reputation in the land! :D

(if by "land" you mean "Sica's Mind" )

Re: POTUS 45.2 - Same arguments, different sides

I'm more impressed that there were still enough State Department staffers in place to *write* the memo!

You're mistaking the military for the military industrial complex. Try again.

You do know that came from a parody twitter account that isn't actually Reuters, yes?

But keep believing the fake news.
