He was head of the RNC. Party before country, unless you're saying that the lack of NDA means it's easier for him to be subpoenad.

One quibble: and this is such a widespread misunderstanding that I think getting past it has become critical to solving our poisonous partisanship. No significant number of conservatives think the government wasn't doing enough to help them. They think the government does way too much. They want less help. Less regulation. Less guidance. Less thought policing. Less security. Less roads, schools, museums, parks. Less government.

While that's a great concept, once it goes into action, we find out that there's generally not enough government. Roads suck, schools such, people are still dying from pollution, and we have no real heritage (other than spending a lot of money on ourselves).

It's funny when you point that out, they still say that one should not "throw money at it"- roads cost money, duh. Teachers need a salary- or they will go do something else.

How about sending a destroyer to the islands in the South China Sea when they started work there? Instead Obama did nothing and look where it got us.

From the NYT, April 2016:

Asian countries are increasingly pushing back against China’s sweeping territorial claims and bullying tactics in the South China Sea. On Sunday, a Japanese submarine made a port call in the Philippines for the first time in 15 years, a sign of growing security cooperation. Last week, Vietnam seized a Chinese ship for illegally entering its territorial waters, and Indonesia threatened to defend its own claims with F-16 fighter jets.

Meanwhile, President Obama used a meeting with President Xi Jinping last week to deliver what one administration official described as “a very direct and unvarnished earful” about how seriously Washington views China’s behavior. And on Monday the United States and the Philippines began annual war games that will certainly show that the Philippines can count on the United States to counter Beijing.

One result of the rising friction is a new defense agreement that will allow the United States to station weapons and troops at five bases in the Philippines for the first time in more than 20 years. Another is a marked increase in regional military spending. The United States recently carried out two patrols by warships and aircraft into territory claimed by China and is planning a third.

...After the bases had already been built.

...After the bases had already been built.

They were not complete as of March of this year according to CNN.

But I'm sure sailing a destroyer out there would have fixed everything. It would have been that simple.

"Could have been a bit tougher" is awfully nuanced criticism, Brent. Almost as if you have no specific grievances in mind.

As much as folks hated W, when he acted, he brought the pain. Now, to paraphrase Christopher Titus infamous "apology" bit, W *MAY* have over-reacted....

If the US is gonna act, then show them we really friggin' mean it. Don't go half-measure. That's all I'm saying.

Bush made the most catastrophic presidential decision in half a century, one which caused many thousands of lives and untold financial harm. We are still dealing with the effects of that mistake.

Bush's "Axis of Evil" speech, followed by toppling and executing Saddam Hussein is why North Korea is putting so much effort into nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.

Re: POTUS 45.14 - No Confusion, It's Collusion!

You and I may see it that way. An oppressive regime sees questions as attacks against their rule, hence why it is generally either dodged or met with repercussion. As a means of not seeming rude, they are likely instructed to acknowledge receipt of it at a minimum. It doesn't mean they have to answer the questions.

So Flaggy, you are basically admitting here that by saying the Trump administration is dodging questions, they are oppressive. A lot of similarities between Dr. Jackson and Trump when it comes to the media... can't have it both ways.

I know, but I think it's a myth that people really hoped Trump would "do more for them." Do less for other people, maybe.

Apparently the Budget Trump sent to Capitol Hill is insane according to Collins.

Does it not contain a large enough deficit for her liking? The budget likely is insane, but its rich coming from someone who has been an office while the national debt has increased $15 trillion dollars.

Then your party should probably stop giving tax cuts to the rich.
