POTUS 45.14 - No Confusion, It's Collusion!

Re: POTUS 45.14 - No Confusion, It's Collusion!

I'm not sure that is true, no bad legislation has passed yet like what happened with Bush. He's certainly the most disliked president.

That's still Nixon. Dump still has people rooting for him and saying anything negative about him is a hoax. By the end, Nixon was utterly reviled. Even Republicans were embarrassed by him and claiming they had never voted for him. It was like the opposite of the JFK Effect (a few weeks after the assassination a poll had 75% of people "remembering" having voted for Kennedy. He won the 1960 election with 51%).

The contrast between Nixon and Dump says something about the hermetically sealed container Republican voters live in now. I assume even if Dump is impeached in 22 months the way Nixon was at the end he'll still have about 36% support and a third of the country unwilling to admit anything is wrong with him. Republican voters are a cult now. They won't go against their programming no matter what the facts are, and most will never even be aware of the facts. As with evolution and climate, it's a willing blindness.

Agreed. Nixon is far and away the most disliked. That will change as the boomers die. Or Trump might just say, "**** it. Let's go for the gold."

The Free World no longer looks to America for leadership. That hasn't been the case since Taft left office. Harding and Wilson sort of pushed us down that hill of global leadership.

The world did not look to Kennedy for leadership?

I don't need to read it again, I need to understand more.

We weren't global leaders until those two presidents started us down the path. We became global leaders under FDR and have been since. Until today.

Thanks. Scooby was right. I didn't read carefully enough.

That's too bad, Donnie. You're only in office because 100k people had more power than 65 million.

Funny, cause I thought it was 4 Republicans who prevented this thing from passing. Sad.

Re: POTUS 45.14 - No Confusion, It's Collusion!

trump so quickly supplanting Bush as the worst president the country has ever had is sort of like Barry Bonds hitting 73 home runs so soon after Mark McGwire broke a nearly 40 year old record by hitting 70. It's really hard for me to understand how he support among his voters remains so high. Do these people have the same sort of delusions in other areas of their lives? Do they also think they can walk through walls or get a date with Sandra Bullock? Because believing anything other than trump is the worst person ever to be the president is just as delusional as if I were to plan on dinner and a movie with Sandra B. this Friday night and actually expect her to show up.

For someone with nothing to hide...

"We're not going to own it. I'm not going to own it. I can tell you the Republicans are not going to own it. We'll let Obamacare fail and then the Democrats are going to come to us," Trump told reporters at the White House.

The irony is that has been Ryan and McConnell's play all along. You're just not to say it out loud to the derps who are going to die because of you.
